I can only recommend the dinner at Mtoni which offers the best food in town, take the daily special if your are tight on your budget. The location is very romantic with traditional music, fire on the beach and tables in the sand. One shoudn't miss it. More

Following a week in a resort, my wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights while exploring Stone Town. It's a lovely little hotel, with a great pool and fantastic views for sundowners. The restaurant is very nice too. We stayed in a palm court room and it was well equipped and spacious. Also has free internet. More

Not the place to look for the white-sands-turquois-water Zanzibar. But a great place to breathe, relax, dip in the pool, drink a cold beer, venture into Stone Town. Very close to Stone Town. Convenient to hop in a taxi and go downtown if you want to save some money and not stay in the Serena. Sports bar for those who cannot live without their televised sports.
