Stayed 4 nights in the Caturra room, a single with private bathroom about 15m away down the corridor. A very comfortable boutique hotel (8 rooms total) situated above the coffee house. Superb breakfasts are served on the rooftop and the coffee is excellent - its possible to have a real espresso, one so good that all memories of the bilge...

the breakfasts on the roof deck are AMAZING and the home made mango chutneys are reason enough to go there. My friend and i were backpacking and treated ourselves to a couple of nights here and were not disappointed.
i would definitely recommend this to any travellers. (except people who have problems with stairs)

Stayed here for the weekend with a friend in one of the twin rooms with a separate bathroom. The hotel is nicely decorated and has great character - nice if you want to escape the faceless hotels but still get a great experience as a guest. Our room was a nice size, clean and cool, and our bathroom, which was...

Affordable. Very friendly staff. Centrally located. Lovely rooftop for wonderful breakfast. Bakery and cafe are great. Welcome beverage (dont be tricked by the "welcome" baked good which you will be charged for). Only stayed one night. Were in the smallest room with private bathroom in the hall. Was clean and nice.

The place itself is worth going to Zanzibar for. The rooms, coffee, cakes, roof terrace, service is fantastic.

The hotel and coffee shop are great. The hotel is situated in a large old colonial building. The bedrooms are simple and clean with antique furniture. The aircon and fan are very much appreciated.
The breakfast really is fantastic! Wonderful selection of fruit, pastries, homemade james, yogurt and cereal. These are followed by a choice of hot options including eggs...

Zanzibar Coffee House is a great place to stay if you really want to be immersed in the atmosphere of Stonetown. Located in the city-centre, in the narrow streets where it's easy to get lost. But the coffeehouse is well marked :)
We stayed in the cheaper "espresso" room with a seperate bathroom across the corridor, but the available bathrobes...

Stayed for a few night at the Macciato room and it was very nice! The breakfastroom on the rooftop had a great view and a fantastic breakfast. Lots of frech fruit, pancakes, bread, jam and more. The staff are really helpful and friendly and they have a great guide, Amore, that will show you everything you want to see on...

Great place, lovely rooms, not the best location for first visit's to Stone Town because it's hard to find if you don't know the streets of Stone Town or if you have bad sense of direction. I'd recommend paying to stay close to the coast. It's located on one of the smaller streets so vehicle can't drive to the front...
