www.inkampala.com In the far southwest of the country, along the well-trod tourist path, lies Kisoro a quiet and unassuming town of about 13,000 people. The town is an ideal destination for a weeklong getaway for those looking for a holiday retreat without leaving Uganda. The drive from Kampala takes about seven hours – assuming you aren’t stopping for pictures at... More

Stayed here with my wife and two friends. Room was very clean and comfortable. Had no room issues whatsoever. Rooms open up into a beautiful courtyard which is the perfect place for a bottle of wine after a gorilla trek! We stayed for three nights as we did two days of gorilla trekking (highly recommend two days as both were... More

Kind and welcoming people trying to serve you as well as they could, but awful food, dogs walking freely in the garden and bothering you (sticking their noses in your food) while eating didn't do it for us the night we stayed there. The hotel itself is full of historic charm and Congolese arifacts. Maybe Diane Fossey liked it in... More

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights during a recent tour of Uganda, largely as a base for the gorilla tracking and then to recover over the next couple of days (we certainly needed an easy day after 9 hours tracking!). The hotel was comfortable, the hot water largely plentiful (although not so good when the rain started)... More

Recently we stayed in this ‘second-home’ of Dian Fossey, Traveller’s rest in Kisoro, Uganda. Nice place, but not a second home to us. In the night of Jan 6-7 2012 we were robbed of money (our spare gorilla permit) and equipment (a.o. camera, phone) and the hotel refused all responsibility. Worse, to keep their record clean they denied the theft... More

We stayed at Traveler's Rest one night before crossing over to DRC early next morning. This is not a fancy lodge, but a professionally run medium sized hotel. The food was good, the service very good. The hotel fixed an early morning special hire for us to the border(Jackson, I must recommended him, he was very helpful) and the breakfast... More

I stayed in this hotel for a night on 11 Jan 2012. This was not planned stay in Kisoro, so booking was not done. After reaching hotel we enquired for the rooms. Two rooms were shown to us - one was suit while other was double bed room. We liked the suit and asked for rate - after some discussions,... More

I've lived in Uganda for quite some time now and unless you want to stay in a 5-star $200+/night safari lodge, you aren't going to get any better than this. The rooms are clean. The showers have water pressure and hot water. The food is better than most at a reasonable price. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend... More

We stayed here for one night, but ate here two nights. On arrival we received a warm welcome and a friut juice. Our room was pleasant with comfortable twin beds with mosquito nets, [but we weren't bothered by mosquitos here]. The front window looked over the courtyard and the back window looked onto the garden. There was a table and... More

This is a small, simple place, but it is very clean and comfortable. Within walking distance to the center of town if you want to go shopping or get on the internet. Rooms are clustered around a central courtyard. There is a bar and fireplace in the common area. On site laundry service. Meals in the on site restaurant have... More
