The dinners here are amazing, the rooms are lovely (fresh roses and fireplaces, and we even had two rocking chairs in front of our fireplace), and the staff makes it extremely easy to plan tours and activities. We went horseback riding and took a tour of Cotopaxi National Park (I recommend both). The guides were wonderful and organized by the... More

The Hacienda El Porvenir is only about 1 1/2 hours from Quito. The last 30 minutes is mostly on a rough cobblestone road that becomes a dirt road not far from the Hacienda. The road is particularly interesting in the rain. The Hacienda itself is very nice. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The public areas are very comfortable,... More

The easiest way to get to our place, is when you hire an all inclusive package; that will provide bilingual guides, transport from and to Quito, and activities like trekking, mountain biking, horse riding, zip lining and more. Because you where on a small group la ternerada living room was not open; but when... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hacenda El Porvenir! We stayed three nights here, one night in a "Hacienda Room" with Private Bath, and two nights in a "Machai Room.” The Hacienda Rooms are really quite nice with a comfortable bed, great views, a heater, and warm soft furnishings. The bathroom although very small was adequate. The... More

Jermy Thank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure to have you with us, and nothing please as more than to know that you enjoy your time with us. The Machai rooms, simulate the traditional andean huts. The estera walls is how the natives of the Andes, split their huts in different rooms; so sleeping in a Machai... More

Hacienda El Porvenir is a beautiful hacienda, located just 10-15 minutes from the Northern entrance of Cotopaxi National Park. It is surrounded by green fields that is home to cows, llamas and wild horses, tucked in among the park's many volcanoes. This is the perfect spot to explore the park, whether it be climbing to the refuge or top of... More

I stayed at Hacienda El Porvenir for two nights in Oct. 2011. My experience there was fantastic. My days were relaxing and I was able to energize myself for the rest of my travels! For budget purposes, I stayed in the Machai area (the main house). The machai's don't have a large amount of privacy, and thankfully my first night... More

We had a fantastic time visiting the highlands of Ecuador. The Cotopaxi volcano looked magical and Hacienda Porvenir offered wonderful service, great food (I still reminisce over the organic tasty beef they served), enjoyed our time by the fire place drinking canelazo to warm us up. They really took care of us. The horseback ride was very memorable with incredible... More

It was our second stay at Porvenir and once again I found myself very impressed. The location is amazing, and they've put lots of care into the facility to make you feel at home. Both times we stayed in private rooms w/ bath and were very pleased with the comfort and amenities. Other family members stayed in the refugio style... More

Arriving at Cotopaxi, we came upon an extraordinary place to stay: hacienda El Porvenir. On the slopes of Cotopaxi, at 3500 m, red painted buildings with thatched roofs, big fireplaces, lovely sitting rooms, big bunches of Ecuador roses everywhere, lama's in the meadow, horses to go riding, a dog to accompany you on your hike, surrounded by vulcanos, we were...
