We booked a tour with Wasai ourselves. It was super easy. A little scay paying all that money and not getting a reciept or confirmation number or anything, but things are done differently in Peru than in the US. We got everything we paid for and more. When we showed up, we were the only ones there and had the... More

Stayed here the end of December 2012. Staff was very pleasant. If you sign up for the three day/ two night trip and go during the rainy season you risk major disappointment. Keep in mind that first day travel is up river for 4.5 hours. Try not to sit in the front of the boat as you will be blasted... More

This place was about what you'd expect in the Amazon. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was nice and we liked that they recycled. They had electricity from 6-10pm. However, we did feel a bit isolated. There were only a few other guests and there wasn't too much wildlife around the area. We also had a great guide and the... More

October 2012, we had a 5 day tour booked, and it was better than we ever expected. The accomodation at Tambopata was excellent, waking every morning early to a cacophony of birds singing. Early morning starts - meaning 4am - are part of the ritual; its when the animals are most active. We saw monkeys, cayman, sloths, otters, many animals... More

It was almost exactly a year ago I stayed at Wasai but I never reviewed it. It was a genuinely unforgettable experience that I still think of often. We stayed at the lodge for 10 days and got involved with conservation work and pretty much everything going on. We monitored a mammal clay lick, which gave us an incredible opportunity... More

Booked 4 days/three nights tour and stay with jungle treks, Macaw clay lick, and Lake Sandoval tour. Our guide, Jorge, was exceptionally knowledgable. We found the Tambopata Lodge very comfortable; food was good and plentiful, they were great about supplying bottled water. The only way you would get bored would be by very conscious choice, they were great about keeping... More

I can't say enough good things about the lodge and staff. It was EXACTLY what I had in mind when I selected an Eco-Lodge in the Amazon Jungle. I have attached a lot of photos simply because there just wasn't that great of information out there when I was trying to find info on this place. For anyone who is... More

We arrived in Puerto Maldonado to spend 3 days doing the "Amazon Adventure" package at the Tambopata Lodge. We had planned on spending one day at the P.M. Ecolodge itself for a day of rest after our jungle excursion. We noticed that the pool at the Ecolodge was out of commission (it was explained that the pool had just recently... More

Not sure what everyone is complaining about, but this place was so much fun. After a week of craziness in Cusco, it felt so good to sit back and relax. The four hour boat ride was totally amazing. We didn't see many animals, but we aren't animal lovers, so we didnt really care. Our guide, Steven, was such a sweetheart,... More

This was wonderful for a jungle lodge, but keep in mind you are in a jungle lodge. We stayed here because we were only visiting for 2 nights and really wanted to see the clay lick - and it was amazing, totally worth the trip. This was the only lodge that offered this tour in such a short time. The... More
