My wife and I spent 2 nights and 3 days there and had a great time. The weather was Hot and humid (to be expected) but had a lot of rain. That means that the parrots don't go to the clay lick, one of the reasons I personally went, but that's a crap shoot. We had Juan Carlos as a... More

Approximately 1.5 hours by bus and boat from Puerto Maldonado, this lodge has no fewer than 30 rooms (and seemingly almost as many guides) and, as such, was much larger than I had anticipated - and more touristy too. Set guided tours (early morning to night-time expeditions) are on offer and are of varying quality. I thought the ox-bow lake... More

This will probably go down as one of the most unique travel experiences we've ever done. Simply put, the lodge was great. It all starts with their guides... all very knowledgeable and friendly. They provide great activities so you can get a real understanding of the jungle life. As for the lodge, just understand where you are and you won't... More

We spent three nights here in March 2012. The "rooms" were pleasant (ours had a hammock) and we truly enjoyed the fact that one side opens to the jungle. We spent many hours watching the dozens of monkeys as they played right in front of our room. Bed was comfortable and bathroom spacious. Both were extremely clean. We enjoyed the... More

I think Innes Dorchester said it all in his review. We stayed here in April 2012 and can concur with all his comments. Stay here for the rain forest experience. You should love it like we did. More

This jungle lodge is not somewhere that you can just arrive, knock on the door, and ask if there is a room available for the night! It is necessary to book a package which includes being collected from Puerto Maldonado airport (flights available from either Cusco or Lima) and transported by road to a river station to embark on what... I loved everything about this place, from the natural surroundings, to the lack of intruding technology, and all eco-concious materials and supplies. But mostly the incredicley lovable guides and their friendly, caring and accomodating nature. The food was a mix of vegetarian and non-veg which was more than I expected at a jungle lodge since I had bad experience at... More

The staff are as helpful and friendly as any I've ever seen and the guides are extremely knowledgeable (as well as helpful and friendly, too). The activities and tours they have included in the price were great and the extra available activities well worth it. The lodge was kept very clean, beds were comfortable and the food was great. There... More

I loved this place, it's rustic but has all the necessary comforts. The atmosphere is relaxing yet there's so much to see and do. The accomodations are nice and clean, the food was delicious, the cocktails were strong and the guides were super cool. It's a great experience and the rainforest is so amazing. I have to thank our guides... More
