I actually liked the tripto Wells so much, we are moving there in May 2010. The hotel was okay, but with all of the summer fun on he lake and hiking, and the winter skiing, snowmobiling, and chillin', its a great place to be. ... but the people are weird, just try to find the "normal" ones...
This is not your everyday modern hotel but you can't beat the kindness and hospitality of the people who own it. They will bend over backword to make your stay more comfortable and pleasant. The town of Wells can't be a better place to spend some Leisure time and enjoy the beauty of nature.
I have stayed at the Algonquin Motel several times over the years, and I always find the rooms to be clean and the beds comfortable. The owners are very freindly and accomodating.
We stayed 2 nights. The rooms were older, but spotless. The owners Paul and Connie are an older couple. They were very nice. We requested extra towels, they brought them right away. I think maybe the other reviewers might have had problems due to the owners being a little forgetful in their old age. Not an excuse, but they seemed...
