We based our stay there based upon previous reviews but unfortunately we were left a little underwhelmed. Whilst the service was terrific and friendly we were disappointed with the accommodation. The design and construction left a little to be desired. We opted for a bigger motel unit, however due to the fact the bedroom was adjacent to the neighbouring rooms... More

Only stayed here one night to enjoy hot water beach and the cathedral cove walk, wich starts just behind this lodge. It is a lovely place to stay. I stayed in the backpackers part wich was really good, nice communal area. Friendly staff and free muffins!

Were roadtripping the Coromandel Peninsula with two friends and found the Tatahi Lodge a beautiful, lush, quaint place. We had a very interesting experience which wasn't unfortunately all good... We baked and cooked dinner with my two friends at the communal kitchen when the very drunken housekeeping staff (WWOOFers?) got to the lodge (where they apparently lived) and started eating... More

I stayed at the Tatahi Lodge with my parents in the self-contained chalet and considering they describe themselves as a backpackers hostel I was slightly taken aback by the impressive accommodation! Our chalet had its on driveway, private gardens and barbecue. The bedrooms were very large and spacious and the living area was really spacious with comfy sofas, tv, dining... More

The staff are friendly and helpful. The kitchen is quite big so their is lots of room to cook, and they have a space rack for communal use, which is great. The lodge is very clean and quite modern and has a homely feel. while i was there everybody was very friendly and i was made very comfortable. We spent... More

We stayed here for two nights on a trip to the Coromandel peninsula from Auckland. We loved being so close to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. The hotel is lovely, the owners helpful but not overbearing. The two bedroom cottage was perfect for us (a couple and a friend). It was really nice to have the outdoor space when... More

Rented a studio apartment for 4 nights. Just perfect. Slap bang in the middle of Hahei, a lovely little quiet beachy place, with all the (low rise) shops and eateries basically on the doorstep of the accommodation, and the beach itself just over 5 mins walk away. Reminded me of Hanalei in Kauai. Helpful front desk staff. Studio had a... More

We were planned to finish our long NZ holiday in the Coromandel Peninsula by reading, sunbathing, etc.. We decided to stay in the Tatahi Lodge and booked a double. As this was in early april, the Lodge was empty and as others, we were also offered to stay in the motel unit, for the same price. The unit was awesome,... More

Having recently stayed for four nights in a Studio Room we can highly recommend this accommodation. We've travelled throughout much of the North Island over many years and in our opinion this is the best motel we've stayed in. The rooms are just what you need and the garden surrounds are inspirational.

We stayed at Tatahi Lodge for 5 nights at the end of our trip to NZ. All we wanted was to stay close to the beach in beautiful natural surroundings and relax before our long trip back to Europe. We got all that at Tatahi Lodge. Even though they have nice backpacker lodgings, we were sick of dorms and decided... More
