We stayed for two nights in our popup. It is a beautiful area and the creek is amazing. I loved listening to the sound of running water. The bathrooms were clean and the shower weren't too bad. It was located close to Waynesville, Smoky Mountains, and the train at Bryson City. I would definitely stay again.

The staff are friendly and the bath house was clean. The campground is quite and in the woods with plenty of trees and a little creek that runs down through the campground. We had a popup camper and where in site 13 when we visited it was a small site but it was perfect for our little popup. For those... More

Bubbling brook, Beautiful landscape, Friendly people, Helpful staff, Clean facilities, Rustic with frills, Reasonable prices, and Prime Location for everything around the Smoky Mountain National Park/Blue Ridge Parkway/Maggie Valley areas. You, or I, couldn't ask for anything more !!! The brook was clean and relaxing. The nature trails provided soothing exercise. Mother Nature provided more than any pool or fitness... More

Me and a couple of family members stayed at Moonshine Creek for 3 days in late October. I will start out with my likes first. The campground is very quiet, very secluded, and sits between two very close small mountain ranges. We had a creekside campsite and I found the trickle of the stream very soothing at night. This campground,... More

We have been stayed at other campgrounds in town and you are right on top of each other and here the sound of a busy road. At Moonshine Creek you will have plenty of room, most sites are right on beautiful creek surrounded by trees and mountains. If you want a nice quiet relaxing place this is the place for... More

This is a neat little campground tucked away in the North Carolina hills near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Yes, the only internet connection is on the porch of the office but considering the location it is surprising they have any internet available! We stayed there 2 nights so we could visit the... More

I found this campground through the Cherokee website and it sounded perfect. My best friend and I were planning a last minute mini vacation just for the weekend and I wasn't sure about the place just because we had never been there. The lady that I spoke with when making the reservations was very friendly and encouraging about the property... More

A comment about Steve's review. All campgrounds have quiet time. Moonshine's is at 10:00 pm as most campgrounds. As far as going shirtless there is a reason for this. I don't know you body type but some people have bodies which want to make you yell to PLEASE PUT ON A SHIRT YOUR SCARING MY KIDS. Just joking on the... More

This campground was recommeded by a co-worker. We are tent campers; Me, my wife, and two boys (5 and 6). We rented one of the large camping cabins; #7. This campground is amazing. Quiet, clean, and close to just about everything. The camping cabins are essentially a dryer version of tent camping; very clean with one outlet for power. The... More

We came here under the idea that there was trout fishing on site or nearby, which there was a pond that wasn't even filled before we left on the 4th of July, when they planned to stock it who knows. They claim to be able to fish in the stream, the stream is only 4"-6" deep and would be lucky... More

Moonshine Creek is a special type of Campground. Our campers come to listen to the creek, enjoy nature and the relaxed atmosphere. We understand that it is not for everyone and we do not advertise ourselves as a resort style campground. Our location is great for people and families that enjoy outside activites, the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, fishing, river... More
