My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at the Port City Guest House in Wilmington, during our first visit to the city. We stayed in the Green room, which is the only guest room with a private bath, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sophie is a warm, charming hostess and made us feel comfortable from our arrival til our... More

This a charming old home very conveniently located to all of the festival activities. The house is beautifully decorated, rooms are comfortable and Sophia was a very charming hostess and great cook. Had a wonderful experience and would return again.

My husband and I spent two nights at this elegant southern home. Each roon was a decorator's delight. Sophie is a gracious hostess with the pm cocktail hour a time to exchange the days events with other travellors. Spacious bedrom, firm matress, which I loved and private bathroom down the hall.

This is truly a hidden gem. Cozy clean well-maintained historic house close to downtown with parking and modern laundry facilities! What more could you ask for? How about a delightful host and innkeeper, delicious and abundant breakfasts, wine and cheese in the afternoons, good conversations, great books all over the place. Top notch!

We stayed 3 nights for our wedding anniversary the last weekend in August 2012. Sophies hospitality was second to none. The breakfast was fit for a king that had a huge selection. It was served at a 10 people table and all the guests ate at the same time, we started at 8:00m and did not leave thtable till 10:00.... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over the recent Labor Day Weekend, for our wedding anniversary. My wife has been great at picking things for 28 years, and her selection of this lovely place was no exception. Sophie, the innkeeper, was delightul and made us feel like we were part of her family. My wife and I have stayed in several B&B's over the years and we are always a little skeptical of glowing reviews . While not on the waterfront (like some other more expensive ones we considered), its a quick 5 minute ride in an area of many beautifully maintained historic homes. This is clearly made up for by its charm... More

This B & B offers a tremendous deal considering the mega breakfasts and afternoon/eve drinks and snacks, all part of the deal. The owner and host, Sophie, offers a lovely character Southern home with veranda and gardens in a quiet but good location just a short drive to Wilmington's riverside attractions. It is also easy to drive to the beaches... More

My husband and I stayed here on the tail end of our honeymoon. Sophie made us feel at home from the second we arrived. We showed up several hours before check in and expected to only be allowed to drop our bags off but she allowed us to fully check in! She gave us the full tour, offered us breakfast,... More

This was by far, the best experience I have ever had at a B&B! Mrs. Sophie was like a mother to me! She doted on me, fed me the best food ever...and even welcomed my coker spaniel "Daisy" like she was part of the family. I loved the beautiful decor in the B&B and enjoyed my stay in Wilmington! I...
