We stayed here recently. The inside is very nice and tastefully decorated. Our room was wonderful, and had a very large bedroom, bathroom and breakfast area. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. There were wooden shutters on the windows to let you sleep as late as you want. (In Winston-Salem, regardless of where you stay -- on Sundays,...

3rd visit for my wife and I in the last several years. First two trips were perfect. Third one not so good. When we checked in on Friday our room was 80 degrees When I asked the inn keeper about it he told me to turn the fan on and the room would cool down. He also told me to...

We've stayed at this B&B several times. It's legitimately funky and charming, with the ramshackle exterior appearance of the two separate Inn buildings (reminiscent of the Addams family!) more than offset by the excellent bedding, big Jacuzzis and state-of-the-art electronics within.
The in-room. microwavable breakfast includes good coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, fruit and and tasty quiches and muffins. We happen...

Only one block south are two excellent local restaurants. The billiard room was fun. The exercise room was surprising, with perhaps $10,000 of Nautilus equipment. There were hundreds of free movies on demand, shown on a new flat-screen TV. The spa in the bathroom was relaxing, with candles, jazz, and free beer. Comfortable bed, pillows, and sheets. Breakfast was in...

We stayed here twice in September 2009; room 222 both times. The room was immaculate and beautifully furnished with many Victorian antiques. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful, and not “in your face”. Much has been said in the other reviews about the breakfast, so let me address that here. Breakfast is pre-made (coffee, juice, bagel, fruit cup, broccoli quiche)...

After a week with our extended (daughters, their mates and grandfairies) family making it 10 people of various sizes in a rented house in Avon on the Outer Banks, my wife and I opted to head back to Ohio via Winston-Salem in order to visit some friends there.
Upon our arrival, this being an older house, the walls in places...

I normally write good reviews because I follow the advice of tripadvisor members and have been seldom lead astray. This time, I have a mixed review. This may be partially do to the fact that I recently read a book talking about taking ownership and having exceptional service. I am now noticing how service is not often given.
For starters...

We have stayed at a number of B and Bs, hostels and hotels and this is one of the best for atmosphere. It is very private. As mentioned, it is not for socializing, as breakfast is left in your fridge, unless you order french toast. The quiche was delicious though and the fruit and yogurt were good too. We didn't...

I must be very careful with this review to do no injustice to this place. There are b&b’s where you mix with the innkeeper and other guests. I prefer such b&b’s and this one is another kind of b&b which does not make it a bad place, it’s just different.
You don’t mix with other guests and the innkeeper leaves...
