Not only was the inn spotlessly clean it was filled with hospitality & a joie de vivre ( hope that is spelled correctly) Lynn & Geoge went above & beyond to make us welcome & comfortable & their food was comparable to any fine dining experience we have had. Along with 7 other dinner guests we shared stories & laughter... More

The time spent at Rothesay will long live on in our memories as one of the highlights of our trip to NL. The house and grounds were beautiful, and our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We had organised to have dinner there the night we stayed and what a good decision that was. The dinner wasn't just of restaurant... More

We recently stayed one night at the Rothesay Inn. We called around 7:30 pm to enquire about a room for that night, as we were travelling on motorcycles and we never know where we will end up. George answered our call and welcomed us at this late hour with no hesitation. Upon arriving, we were invited into the parlour to... More

We were very fortunate to stay the the Rothesay B&B for three nights in May. Travelling for business, we then stayed on in NL for an extended holiday. We started in St. John's and then decided to try a B&B for three nights. What a stroke of luck! We arrived mid-afternoon and were greeted by Lynn and George who welcomed... More

Stayed one night during a recent business trip. The hospitality of the owners, exquisite cuisine from Lynn's kitchen and quaint ambience of the historical home would be reason to return, especially when I could stay longer.

This is a beautiful old house with a rich local history. Ask George to tell you about it. He is very knowledgeable. Lynn, his wife, is a top drawer chef. It was a wonderful surprise to find out, upon arrival, that we could eat a three course dinner at the B&B for a very reasonable set price. The value of... More

During our recent trip (September 2012) to the Avalon and Bona Vista Peninsulas, we stayed 2 days at Rothesay House in Harbour Grace which was a super location from which to visit (and photograph!!!!) Brigus, Cupids and travel north up the Baccalieu Trail. George and Lynn were super hosts and so helpful in recommending what to see and where to... More

I was travelling on my own and came to the Rothesay. I was immediately attracted to a fine building and its interior both of which had lots of charm. Host George met me at the door and I felt instantly at home. Everything was good about it. George took my baggage to my room and I settled in easily. I... More

We've stayed in many great B&Bs over the years but Rothesay House beats them all! George and Lynn Butler have taken inn-keeping to another level. They greet you at the door, take your bags upstairs and make you comfortable right from the get go. Their historic house is expertly decorated but still comfortable and homey. Lynn is a gourmet cook;... More

Doing a road trip around the Northern Avalon peninsula you have to stay with George and Lynn in Harbor Grace. The Rothesay House is a historic landmark home on the water, which we were lucky enough to get one of their last rooms. You will feel like you are visiting your favorite family, comfortable and well fed. The dinner we... More
