PBL is an older hotel (just like the Ontario Northland Railway's rolling stock) and there is not a thing wrong with that. Comfortable beds, friendly folk, good food, great location and my 83 year old father loved the bedside lamp - he'd like to fined one now.

RIght next to the docks to go to Moose Factory. We stayed here for one night last week. Expensive. Clearly the hotel has seen better days. But not too many choices of hotels there. It would have still been bearable if there was anything to do there. Alas, Moosonee too has seen better days.

While in moosonee we ate twice at the Polar Bear lodge. The food was excellent with a great view. Friendly service and clean Understand lodge is under new management and they seem to be working on cleaning up the motel

The room was dirty, stains on the comforter and the door looks like it had been kicked in a couple of times and repaired.
