We got room number 3 for two nights. The room was big, clean, comfortable and nice. I read before that the pool was not good for use in some other reviews, but my children used it. Of course there were some leafs in it, but how can´t it be if it is surrounded by beautiful big trees? I found the... More

This is a really lovely little hotel built around a lovely pool and garden. It is about 10 minutes walk down to the main square and it is close to the beautiful old convent of San Bernando and an excellent restaurant (about two mins walk just on the other side of the convent). The room was really well decorated and... More

I did this review under my old account so I'm adding it here to my collection. This experience dates to January 2008. Enjoy. We travelled in from Canada and since we were staying in Telchac Puerto for the month, we decided to stay at Vallodolid to cut the driving in half. We arrived at Casa Quetzal around 10 pm after... This hotel is very charming and in a nice location near the convent with a quick walk to the city center. It is however way overpriced. Breakfast is not included but will cost you 90 pesos (didn't look like 90 pesos worth of food so I skipped it). Bottled water is not provided although no one objected when I refilled... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at Casa Quetzal the first week of March and found it was just what we were looking for. The year before we had stayed at another hotel closer to the plaza, but we were not happy with it. We arrived about 10 pm from Cancun because we missed the 5:30 bus and had to take... More

This well hidden jewel was selected by Balamkaan, the Yucatecan travel agency (based in Merida) who arranged and guided for us a wonderful private tour of Yucatan. It is neighbour to the Convent and located five blocks from the Plaza and Cathedral (maximum 8 minute walk in a very safe environment). Our room was large, with good A/C, comfortable beds,... More

We stayed at this hotel in January 2012 and whilst this is supposed to be high season, there were hardly any other people at the hotel. Once the staff had clocked off we felt like the only people there which could have been nice but felt a little eerie (there is no 24 hour reception). I would agree with other... More

This was one of my favorite places in the Yucatan - a beautiful relaxing courtyard, furniture and decorations using traditional Mexican crafts - spacious rooms with comfortable beds, good breakfast and very personable staff. It's located just about a 10 minute walk from the main town square. More

We travelled around the Yucatan peninsula for a week and stopped at Quetzal for 2 nights. Our main interest was to spend some time in the city and go see the Ek Balam ruins. The Casa is built with a central area with lots of trees, plants, pathways....a lot of excellent relaxing features. If the pool is dirty it's the... More
