We decided to get married here in April after looking at lots of venues. I was concerned about the volume of weddings they accomodated and initially did'nt want to use a hotel but the castle is such an impressive venue it won me over. The staff were brilliant, particularly the wedding department who were very helpful and efficient and on... More

I stayed at Peckforton with my family for a wedding. At first, everything appeared to be ok. Our reservation with the hotel had been made approx 18 months in advance of the wedding. One of our requirements was that my mother needed an accessible room as she is in a wheelchair. When we were taken to the room, it was... More

We were fortunate to be invited here for a wedding and stayed overnight . The surrounding gardens are lovely, the hotel itself is commanding and stunning. The wedding breakfast was fabulous. Our room was situated at the front of the castle with views over the well maintained gardens, although small (standard room) the beds were really comfortable and the bedding... More

We were initially very impressed with Peckforton Castle. It's a magnificent building and a fascinating - if confusing - layout. Our superior room was very comfortable and we looked forward to a good meal and an enjoyable evening. But when we went to the bar at 7.15pm for a drink before dinner, although it was empty except for the barman,... More

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you found the Castle to be interesting and the bedroom to be very comfortable. Our house wines start from £4.15 for a small glass and range up to £7.00 dependant upon individual choice and preference. Your comments regarding the restaurant are most disappointing and certainly not the norm. We pride ourselves on the... More

My husband and I decided to visit the Castle after we had nearly booked here to stay for 2 nights but had decided against it due to the fact the cellar bar was now closed (i.e. we feel this is more our sort of thing as oppposed to the posh main 1851 restaurant) and the price of the rooms (we... Beautiful castle, full of character. I treated my parents to afternoon tea here a couple of weeks ago. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The grounds and the castle are stunning. I love how all the owls and kestrals are on the walk up to the castle it really does set the scene. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite.... More

We spent a night at Peckforton Castle to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were really excited to see the castle as we got married here 16 years ago and were looking forward to seeing the changes that the current owners has achieved. The room was "Broxton" high up in one of the towers. It was fantastic, with incredible views over... More

Went to a wedding here in September 2010 and June 2012. both times the service was great and we had a wonderful night. I would recommend to any one looking for a hotel with a twist. You really do feel like the king of the castle.

Our children bought my husband and I a one night spa break as a present, and as you drive under the arch in to the grounds it is a wonderful sight. The food in the 1851 restaurant was some of the best we have ever had, and the restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was very comfortable all... More

Thank you for your review. Great to read that you enjoyed the bedroom and that the food was some of the best you had ever tasted. We always take a pre-authorisation on arrival to cover room charge and extras, which is then completed on check out. My apologies for the oversight with the wine & water charge. Hope to have... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 47 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 2 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
