We were doing the Coast to Coast walk. We didn't book the Shepherds Arms, it was booked for us, but it provided a warm, comfortable, friendly environment, much appreciated at the end of a long day. Good food, attentive service, nice people. Perfect. More

We stayed at this hotel on our first night of walking coast to coast. First impressions were quite good and staff and room were nice. Proprieter definately needs some customer training. The Shepherds Arms isn't your typical village pub/hotel with comfy armchairs and log fires. The modern decor may put some people off but I found it pleasant.
