We stayed at the Shepherd's Arms while walking the Coast to Coast in April 2013. We had a very spacious room and they have a huge drying room - great for walkers. The pub was very friendly and food was excellent quality. The landlord was extremely friendly, this is a great traditional pub B&B

This was our first trip to Ennerdale Bridge and were surprised at the welcome we received and what value for money £70 for a twin room including breakfast. The main point though is when booking they ask if you were walking on the fells where you were planning and what is your estimated time of arrival. A little intrusive you... More

We live locally but had never been to The Shepherds Arms before and on recomendations from friends we booked for Sunday lunch on 14th April, taking the family. We were taking a baby with us so asked if they had a high chair available which was waiting for us when we arrived. The food was superb. The roast dinner was... More

We ate dinner here twice last week whilst staying in the area. The hostess gave us a great welcome and the homemade food was excellent in quality and value. Particular recommended Steak and Kidney Pudding!

In recent years I have visited the Shepherds on numerous occasions and always been disappointed until now.. I called in a couple of weeks ago to find helpful friendly staff and a new landlord who I recognised immediately from another establishment I used to visit regularly. This was a welcome change from previous service I had here. I would reccommend... More

Stopped and had lunch here during our recent trip to Cumbria. Enjoyed their homemade vegetable soup and sandwiches for lunch. The food was delicious and well worth every penny. The staff were really helpful and friendly too. Would highly recommend a visit!

Stayed at this hotel for a night while in the area for work. I found it to be excellent value for money with a very hospitable welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a few extras thrown in - nice biscuits, good quality tea/coffee tray, soft towels, and a few bottles of shower gel/shampoo etc. For about 40gbp with... More

I stayed for 3 nights recently and found everything superb. The hosts and staff could not have been more welcoming and the room was clean, warm and spacious with a great shower. There was a choice of several locally brewed ales and the food was magnificent. I was brave enough to bring my wife, who thinks she is the hotel... More

It was my sons christening last weekend and we chose the shepards arms as a venue. We had over 100 guests & had the choice of a buffet or hotpot, fresh bread & red cabbage at a very reasonable price. We chose hotpot due to the cold weather which went down great! They served it and gave the option for... More
