The most delightful place. The rooms are spotless and have everything you could wish for. Outdoor seating area and the prettiest garden. Caroline and Martin, the owners, are fantastic and have a wealth of knowledge about Cartmel and surrounding areas. Nothing is too much trouble, they really go out of their way to make your stay memorable. A great base to ramble and explore South Lakes and Cartmel itself is beautiful. Lots to do, a real gem of a place. We couldn’t have hoped for more!

I am a tad slow in writing this review but the memory or our lovely stay at Calsfell View has finally prompted me to give credit where it is due. My husband and I stayed in room 1 for 3 nights, as part of a 20th wedding anniversary trip in May of 2015. We travelled from Australia and stayed in numerous bed and breakfasts. Accommodation is so expensive in Cartmel and this b and b was reasonably priced. We wanted everything in easy walking distance which was definitely the case. The breakfasts were just delicious and HUGE! Caroline was incredibly helpful, giving us lots of useful advice on local walks and places to eat. She went above and beyond when she washed and dried our clothes (for free!) after I inquired about finding a laundromat. I would highly recommend Calsfell View for anyone looking to stay in this delightful village.

We booked Calsfell View for two reasons. It is dog-friendly and was within walking distance of the centre of Cartmel village. The owner was very welcoming and very helpful. Car parking is good on the driveway in front of the house on a quiet road. The breakfasts were fantastic! This is one of the best B&B stays ever! Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Calsfell View for 3 nights in August whilst visiting Cartmel and doing some walking in the area. We stayed in room 2 at the back of the house looking into the garden which was nice, especially with all the flowers and birds on the feeders. Room was an adequate size for us as we had 1 large bag and couple of small rucksacks. You may have struggled with big suitcase so Room 1 would then be a better option. Breakfasts were great with all produce being produced locally. Breakfast menu choice was also extensive and would cater for all tastes. The owner, Caroline, was an ideal host and gave us some good local knowledge about where to eat in Cartmel and best places to get sandwiches from each day. All in all a very enjoyable stay and a place I would highly recommend. Nick & Pam, Crewe

Have just returned from a great overnight stay at calsfell view, we took my parents with us and both rooms were fantastic with absolutely everything you need, comfortable beds and breakfast was delicious, Caroline was very helpful with lots of information about the local area, only 5minutes walk to the village and racecourse, we will be staying at calsfell view again for sure as it was 5star quality. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Fantastic experience from check in to check out. Have just returned home following a 1 night stay in this great B & B and I wanted to share this little gem with everyone. A friend had booked this accommodation for us as we were going to the races, she said that it was outside the village (she was staying in the square) but to be honest it only took a few minutes and you were right in the middle of the village and our accommodation was far better than theirs so the very short walk did not bother us at all. Our host was lovely and the whole place is spotless. We enjoyed a wonderful cooked breakfast which we ate looking out into the garden through the open patio doors. The attention to detail both in the room and throughout the place is second to none and we were made to feel very welcome. Sadly we were only staying for 1 night but I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the area.

We have enjoyed another excellent stay here. Over the 3 years or so that we have visited Cartmel and used Calsfell the welcome, standard of accommodation, quality of food and friendliness of Caroline have never been below superb. The breakfasts are a real treat with a good choice and the food is cooked perfectly and has real flavour. Very relaxing and highly recommended. Well positioned for easy access by foot into the heart of the village - about a 5 minute walk.

Stayed here last month for two nights and couldn't fault it at all. Friendly hosts, lovely breakfasts, spotlessly clean and nothing was too much bother. We even had a torch given for the walk into town as its very dark !! Breakfast had entertainment in the form of wild rabbits and birds in the lovely garden, would highly recommend.

We have just enjoyed another excellent stay here. Really comfortable and welcoming. Excellent choice for breakfast and so well prepared. Lovely view from the dining room of an attractive garden - very popular with birds. Lots of helpful advice on places of interest and things to see and do. Looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended.

I can't really find fault with this B&B. Well ok - it's not cheap (but nor is anywhere else in Cartmel) and they don't take credit cards. But the room was fine, the owner friendly and helpful, the view lovely and the posititon is great if you are visiting Cartmel. I would recommend the eggs benedict for breakfast.
