We have just returned from Brook House where we had lunch to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. The food was fantastic and the service excellent. Despite having 28 meals to serve, including 9 young children the staff were unfazed, efficient and friendly. Thank you to Lesley, Sarah and the rest of the team for making the day really special. Stayed here on the first night of a walk from Ravenglass to Ulverston in April 2012. Really friendly welcome. Food as good as ever. Lovely breakfast. Great meals, we had lunch and dinner, walking back to make sure we had time for our meals, cant fault the place, staff good, beer great try lakeland brilliant, good value. all in all worth 5 stars. Another excellent meal at the Brook House. A very warm welcome by one and al and the 'snug' was lovely and warm on a cold winter's night. Stayed two nights. Whilst Brook House is efficiently run it lacks atmosphere. The staff were professional, polite, attentive but totally disinterested in the customer which is the opposite to the recently refurbished Woolpack up the road. Stayed for three nights dinner b&b and we loved it. The room was clean and comfortable, the ensuite recently refurbished and very modern. Free wifi access was handy as mobile signal in Eskdale is hit and miss. The service was personal and friendly and all the meals were great - great choice, great value, superbly presented. We stayed one night in this beautiful area and only wished it could have been longer. The room was spacious and well furnished which I enjoy. We got a good deal but without that it would be a little expensive. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. More
