Rang last minute for my self and a teen with small dog after visiting Rowrah Race Track, (7 miles away)found this place by chance on net after having no joy with other numerous hotels and B and B's. Lovely greeting on arrival including getting to know our nervous dog lol . Room was spotless and very comfortable on ground floor.easy... More

stayed at this hotel for one night with our two dogs. was given a room by the main door/car park on the ground floor. was woken at about 2am with noisy drunkan guest coming in after a good night out on the town. no consideration for other guests staying at the hotel. finally got back to sleep about 5am. as... We have stayed in the chase for severel family reunions. Our family is from all over the country and we all love to stay here. The staff are great as are the rooms. The function room with Buffett is brill and the bar staff great. The breakfast is smashing and no issues with waiting. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Attending a family event in Whitehaven, This hotel gave us all an excellent reception and catered to our various needs. It was an old world type of extablishment. The staff were extremely helpful and were eager to please. Plenty of off road parkinf it offered a well stocked bar and both an excellent ans subsatntial breakfast and evening meal menu... More

We have stayed at The Chase as it is convenient; close to the centre and also close for us to visit friends who live in Whitehaven. There is a plenty of car parking available. The receptionist was friendly on arrival and assured us we would be able to get back into the hotel easily after midnight, if needed. The room... More

We chose the chase for an annual get together with friends from Egremont. I was very impressed with the efficiency and politeness of the front of house staff. The food was impeccable and reasonably priced. I have read the reviews for the hotel and yes it is a little dark but it has charm you don't find in many modern... More

I hadn't stayed here for over a decade and ironically ended up in the same room in the new wing. Ten years ago the room was nearly new. The intervening decade has been kind and my single was clean and comfortable. Noise from the next rooms was badly suppressed but I had no other issues. Breakfast was good and served... More

If you need to stay in Whitehaven and don't have a means of transport (car), then the Chase is ok for that reason. Some positives about the place, but unfortunately negatives for me outweigh these positives. The food is good, and the staff are pleasant, that's the good points about this hotel. Breakfast was served quickly and of a good... More

Stayed for one night, and that was one night too long. Dank, depressing, dated, and so much more. I stayed in room 12, it is huge. It's winter in Cumbria and there was no heating in the room and because the room is so big it made it feel even colder. I suspect they still have the summer duvets on... More

The whole atmosphere is as the title; dank! Very dated decor, every furnishing is cracked and weathered and the whole experience makes for a very poor experience, at least in the older rooms. I have stayed in the newer wing and the experience there is slightly better. The breakfast is made to order and is passable, but by no means... More
