The hotel is an old inn within walking distance to everything, including a beautiful nature trail across the street. The room was very big not just by English standards. My wife and I came with our 6 mos old baby and they were very accommadating. The breakfast is great and the owners were absolutely wonderful. More

On our first trip to Ashbourne we called at the Station Hotel looking for a three night stay. The owners could, at that time, only offer one night but took the trouble to call around for us and find three night accomodatiion. While they did this they served coffee and tea to my wife and I. We decided there and... More

Second time at this hotel. Went back because I loved the four poster bed, the location & of course the actual hotel. Paid a lot more for the stay than I normally would, but it was an anniversary. The bed was comfy, room very spacious and the brekky was great. The host was lovely & helpful although forgot our inclusive... More

Two very pleasant nights spent at this hotel ideally placed for a few days exploring Ashbourne. Comfy bed (better than the one at home!) so a great nights' sleep. Breakfast was high quality ingredients well cooked and presented in a lovely room. Nothing to much trouble for David the host, who gave us excellent advice of the places to eat... More

As a surprise weekend for the wife it worked out really well. David [the host] was friendly and very helpful, and party to the surprise. Our first evening was spent with our friends who'd come along as the surprise, and David kept the bar open for us until we decided it was bedtime [about 1:30 I think!]. Nothing was too... More

7 of us stayed (3 dads 4 boys) we went mountain biking and got wet & muddy. We all slept well and the breakfast was great. David even loaned me a mug from his personal property for a proper brew. They have secure storage for bikes which is a bonus when your on a riding weekend and my bike isn't... More

Highly recommended for both business and leisure travellers. I travel all over the UK for work and more often than not stay in the normal chain hotels - which I beginning to move away from as there really are some gems out there if you search and this is one of them! Firstly, David was a fantastic host, often checking... More

Nice rooms - clean, comfortable and warm. Bathroom a little tired and we had to wait a while to get hot water when in the shower and pressure was not great but acceptable. Breakfasts - a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices and toast followed by a great selection of items for a cooked breakfast which were cooked... More

It's now almost 2 years since we stayed at the Station Hotel and I'm sorry to say that I forgot to write a review at the time. I'm not going to try to fault anything because there was nothing to fault. We had 2 or 3 great days (can't remember how many.... age thing!) in and around Ashbourne and The... More
