Tiny self contained attic with microwave, sink and fridge. The only issue was the (sofa!) bed which I found quite uncomfortable but my wife found ok. It has a very central location and must be one of the best (and quirkiest) places to stay in Whitstable including having the added element of privacy on normal B&Bs or hotels. The owner... More

I'm just back from Whitstable where I spent a couple of nights. I fell in love with this lovely town, which was made even more lovely by being able to stay in the gorgeous Polly's Attic. I was so happy that I found such a brilliant, unusual place to stay....definitely not your usual b+b / guest house accommodation. Polly's Attic... More

For £95 a night I was looking forward to some four star luxury, as advertised. What I got was itchy polyester/cotton sheets (I checked the label), cheap hollowfibre duvet and pillows and the ability to feel every spring in the mattress. We are lucky enough to go away often and so compared to what else is out there, this is... More

We are, of course, very disappointed that we were not able to fulfil the expectations of our guests on this occasion as we strive in every way to provide the best possible service. It is very regrettable that they felt that the rooms were not warm enough. After an unseasonably warm October it was difficult to judge the temperature. For... More

Visited Whitstable for the first time and fell in love with this quaint fishing town. A high street NOT full of usual large brand stores, but quirky, retro, unusual shops and many many places to eat delicious fresh fish. The Captain's House is on this lovely street, called Harbour Street. It is a beautiful house and up the stairs you... More

Stayed here for one night in May 2011. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. The room is nicely decorated and very cosy, but is essentially the attic in the owners' house. The ceilings are very low and sloping: I couldn't stand up straight in most of the accommodation, and nearly knocked myself out getting off the toilet. The breakfast was limited:... More

We only stayed one night but we loved it! Perfect location, very very charming, we really felt like at home. Located at the top of the house in an attic room, everything looks simply lovely! A little idyllic spot in the middle of Whitstable... The breakfast was well presented, in a large basket that you could easily take in your... More

Three nights in the Captains House in Whitstable was perfect for our Honeymoon. The town is bustling during the day with plenty of shops-away from high street names-to look at. The Harbour and beach are lined with lovely pubs and restaurants which, as the sun is setting, are ideal for romance. As the night comes in a bustling Harbour Street... More

We stayed at the Captain's House for a couple of nights as part of a long weekend. The Captain's House is rated as a 4 star B&B and for this (and the price) we expected to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. You stay in the attic area of the House and have bedroom, bathroom and separate lounge area, right... More

We are, of course, very disappointed not to have provided the perfect weekend for our guests. We provide freshly baked croissants and pastries direct from a local bakery each morning and these are plentiful, varied and of the highest quality. They are also baked to food safety standards in a monitored environment, for which we bear the extra cost. We... More

This place is a real gem. There is no point in downloading my own pictures as they would look EXACTLY like the ones you can find on their website! The truth is that not often do you find the place looking even better in reality than in the pictures! I would not hesitate and come back there as soon as... More
