The Inn was once a secret to those in the know! We've been going to eat there for years and it must be one of the few places where standards have never dropped. Famous for its fantastic fish pie - there are many other culinary delights to await the diner. In an idyllic setting - it truly is an experience... More

I had booked room 20 as a treat to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and what a delight! From the minute we arrived at this stunning location to the minute we had to reluctantly drag ourselves away everything was perfect. The room, with it's beautiful veranda overlooking the river, the oh so comfortable four poster bed, gorgeous bathroom and the wonderful food... Hubby and I stayed overnight here on the night of our daughters wedding. This was our second visit having got married here ourselves some 7 years ago. The standard of attention, care and help hasn't changed. All credit must go to the staff, nothing was too much trouble even when the bottom tier of the wedding cake was completely destroyed... More

We arrived Sunday lunch time....predictably busy but we found two seats at the end of a fourteen foot table with another couple at the other end and perused the menu.Strangely no mention of a Sunday carvery (available everywhere eight pounds ninety five) so we settled for two sandwiches. My wife ordered prawn which was OK and I ordered ham.It was... More

Sorry we are not your bag.The sandwiches are open as discribed in the menu and we don't have many customers asking for a cravery. I don't have a helicopter but I am happy for customers to land in the field. Regards CB More

We booked as an anniversary and birthday celebration. The rooms were lovely. Modern amenities with an old fashioned feel. Only small gripe was that they didn't accept American Express. More

That's because it is usually very good! We've been many times so best to mention my overall thoughts on the place, rather than just the last visit. We've stayed over a few times as well and it should be noted that a weekend stay can sometimes be booked up for around a year in advance. The food is usually great,... More

Amazing location. Beautiful room, good food and great service. It is not cheap, but after 2 days there we felt like we'd had a weeks holiday. More

The Whitewell experience starts as early as the drive through Bowland. Gliding along sylvan glades you suddenly encounter this wonderful vision of the old church with the picturesque hotel adjacent to it. You will be uplifted but a quick dash around the back will raise the spirits even more. The view from the terrace is as good as it gets... More
