4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2013 NEW

We recently stayed at the Hogs Head Inn and found the staff to be extremely accommodating, friendly and nothing short of excellent. The room was obviously very new, was clean and lacked nothing that we needed. There were ample coffee sachets for our stay and the bathroom was clean. The rooms were lovely and warm and quiet despite being quite... More

Clean, comfortable, modern decoration, just lacks a bit of soul - a bit like a slightly better Premier Inn!! We enjoyed our weekend stay and can't really fault the accommodation and the bar , staff were polite enough but it just lacked a bit of the personal touch. Was expecting that good old North Eastern welcome, but don't hold your... More

Hogs head inn is new (sept 2012) so lovely and clean. We had a family room and on arrival it really had a wow factor. Food in the restaurant was beautiful homemade dishes. Really pleased with the choice as I am a vegetarian. Only downside was no bath in the family bathroom / although we did put baby in the... More

We had a fantastic stay. We stayed on Sunday night as was going to the Harry Potter castle on the bank holiday Monday. We had booked some where else but upon arriving at the other destination we had been disappointed and was so far from Alnwick castle, so tried to find somewhere and a local B&B said about the Hogshead.... Probably not to be honest. It's recently built so there is no heritage about it and could, by some, seem a little soulless. However, in its benefits are huge rooms that are adequately resourced, large comfortable beds, a well catered bar and restaurant and ample parking in a floodlit carpark. It's not in town, but there again that is probably... More

Great place well situated for the castle and gardens. Hotel almost brand new with huge rooms, breakfast included is very good value! Alnwick town to eat in the evening is also very close by. The only problem was we stayed two nights and didnt have the room serviced untill 4.30 pm on the following day, id expect it to have... More

Stayed here onroute to Edinburgh. Its not the most picturesque of locations, being at the side of the A1, next door to a petrol station but the accomodation was good, clean and all the rooms had all modcons including tea and coffee making facilities, good shower and flat screen TVs with good selection of channels. Only issue with the room... More

Having had many good meals at the Hogs Head I decided to book a family birthday celebration. The clan descended on the Hogs Head on saturday 6th april for a family birthday celebration. The reception 17 of us got was one of calm and efficiency. No flapping about here for a such a large party. Two of our party had... More

ps Please note that reviews are seen in both titles ie Hogs head inn and the hogs head inn being the same place. We first went to The hogs head Inn today to experience the positive reviews from fellow travellers and local business people whom we know live in the area. We can only agree with the good reviews, and... More

The Hog's Head Inn is just off the A1 to south of Alnwick and is located in an industrial estate but don't let that put you off. Although it was only opened in 2012 it's a well-designed traditional looking building. It's lacking any ambience and apart from a few photos in the bedroom corridors there's nothing distinctly Northumbrian about it.... More
