We wanted a central point to explore Northumberland & chose this B&B from the internet. We stayed for 3 nights and Mavis & Gerald the owners made us feel very welcome, our room overlooked the front of the house and was one of the largest and cleanest bedrooms we have ever stayed in. The en suite bathroom was also of... More

We can only echo what other people have said about Aidanfield, where we stopped for a night on our tour of the Northumberland Coastal path. Perfect in every way. Many thanks to Mavis and Gerald for all their (extremely successful) efforts to make us feel at home - just sorry we couldn't stay longer. More

We were walking St. Cuthberts Way and were tired and dirty when we arrived. Hosts Mavis and Gerald made our 1 nght stay here most enjoyable. They do everything they can to make you feel welcome. The bedrooms and en suite bathrooms were spacious, very comfortable and immaculate. Breakfast too was excellent. We had our own spacious lounge where we... More

If you want to understand the difference between a B & B and a guesthouse, just come here! In fact, this must be one of the few purpose-built guesthouses in the country. Our room was wonderfully spacious, with panoramic views over the immaculate garden, through the fields to the sea. To call it luxurious would be an understatement. There is... More

After another long wet day of walking Mavis offered to dry our wet gear. The room was lovely and tastefully decorated. The views across to the nearby coast were fabulous. Although dinner was not offered a recommendation to visit 'The Black Bull' in Lowick was excellent along with the food. A very good selection was offered at Breakfast. After leaving... More

This was out first trip to Northumberland and this B & B is a great advert for a beautiful area. The rooms are large, bright and airy, with an equally bright en-suite. The breakfast was very tasty and cooked perfectly. We took advantage of the spacious lounge which is well stocked with books, board games and TV. The couple who... More

We have stayed here several times on our yearly trips up to Montrose. We were amazed on our first visit at the size of the rooms and their cleanliness. There is always a friendly welcome and a pot of tea and biscuits after our long journey from Yorkshire. The house is beautiful and the grounds and views from every window... More

This was the best B&B we stayed in during our 10 week holiday in Ireland and the UK. The hosts were so very friendly, the room large and comfy, breakfast wonderful. It is in a lovely setting and near a number of beautiful places to visit. Only wish it wasn't so far from Australia so we could visit frequently. More

We stayed one night here during our 60-mile mostly-walking trip on the Northumberland Coast Path. This was by far and away the nicest B&B we stayed in during the whole trip. The house looks old but was actually built in 2000, specifically to be a B&B, so everything is modern and well laid out. Our room was HUGE, beautifully decorated,... More
