We stayed at the ship for just one Saturday night in March. Living in Northumberland we have visited Holy Island before but have always wanted to stay on the Island and experience it after the closure of the causeway when all the day trippers have left. We arrived at midday and were able to park right outside and were given... More

I feel that I must put the record straight, after reading jeb's review. Was he in another restaurant, on another island, in a different universe? Is £5.50 unreasonable for a jacket potato with filling, served at a restaurant, when an M &S sandwich costs at least £3. I think this may give an insight into the mind of the plaintive... More

I love Lindisfarne and go regularly. However we had the misfortune of dining here on one lunch time when our daughter had driven over 100 miles to visit and spend the weekend with us. We all ordered jacket potatoes with different fillings at the extortionate price of £5.50 EACH! I was reluctant to pay this but as the pub was... More

We take all our reviews very seriously. However this review appears to be very malicious in that the reviewer feels so bad about our establishment it takes 6 months to submit a review! Jacket potatoes were only sold during the Summer months and if this product was not (in their opinion) up to standard and did not meet their quality... More

The Ship Inn is a real gem offering great hospitality, clean, comfortable accommodation and superb food. For hosts Janice and Andrew nothing is too much trouble and we left knowing this was somewhere we will return to time and time again. Thanks! More

Although I did not stay as a guest here, I ate here twice during my stay on the Holy Island, and was impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the owners and the staff. I complimented the chef on a starter he had as a special the first night I ate there, and he went out of his way to... More

Having wanted to spend a weekend away, my wife and I chose to stay at the Ship Inn on Holy Island for a couple of nights in January for a relaxing break to the island as we had never visited the before. We found hosts Janice and Andrew were funny and honest combined with hospitality that was warm, welcoming and... More

Holy Island is a magical location and we had a fabulous stay there. The hosts where very helpful and welcoming and advised us on two fantastic walks. The place was clean and functional, but I have to say you did feel you were paying for the location! The beds were exceptionally soft to the extent you could easily fally out...and... More

My wife and I decided to have a couple of nights away in December for our first wedding anniversary, and decided on a quiet relaxing break on Holy Island. And what a treat. Hats off to Andrew & Janice, their hospitality is second to none. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and real ales, and having stopped in room one (the more... More

Extremely friendly service. The owners were more than hospitable, food was home cooked and fantastic. The open fire in the bar was atmospheric and relaxing, a wonderful way to spend a weekend. We were very impressed with the Ship Inn and would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful part of the North East. More

Our experience of this place could not have been further from most other reviewers opinions. When you arrive the hall way is dark and dismal and very small, up the narrow stairs to the rooms. We were in the 4 poster bedroom, what a disappointment!!! Upon entering the room smelt musty and on closer inspection it was apparent the room... More

Firstly, for someone who was obviously 'very upset' about her stay with us you kept very quiet for 4 months, unless of course you read a certain other review and decided to 'join in'. We find it hard to believe you can stay overnight with friends and not mention your huge disappointment (treble exclamination marks noted in your review) and... More
