This is a beautiful place, a lovely venue for a wedding with a few provisos. 1. Don't wear heels, the path to the garden is gravel and very uneven grass. Two almost twisted ankles isn't a good look. 2. Don't book a party bigger than 18, they can't cope. Our wedding meal was a portion down (this after there being... More

My friend and I along with our wives were attending the unveiling of the Falklands Conflict Memorial at the NMA so we wanted to stay fairly local to the NMA but also had to attend the AGM at Stafford. Mercure have a good reputation and this hotel was the nearest to the NMA and we are glad we stayed here,... More

The wedding that we attended here was well managed from start to finish by the hotel team and Tom the toastmaster. The ceremony was in a different room to the main reception room and was well laid out, with a view onto the gardens at the rear. The main photo opportunities came about outside in the garden where there are... More

Very good staff, breakfast, location, parking. Bedroom a bit dated but clean and bright. Mercure seems to have a level of consistency which is good. Internet wired troublesome. More

I stayed here for one night (business). I found the hotel to be comfortable, but food and drink on the expensive side and as it is in the middle of nowhere (if you don't want to drive to eat), they have a captive audience. I ate a nibble / bite size starter - not advertised as a starter, a veggie... More

The staff here are very efficient & polite, the rooms are comfortable. When we arrived our room was a little cold, within a minute of calling reception we were given extra heating. Our stay was linked with a Wedding, which all ran very smoothly. The following day breakfast was fresh & nicely served. More

I stayed here over 2 nights with my girlfriend as part of a trip to Alton Towers. We stayed in the Derbyshire Suite, which is located at the front of the hotel overlooking the road. Stay in March, radiator in room cold also towel rail cold, was a warm weekend so no heat required even though March, not sure about room comfort in cold weather. Very good quality meals and good value. Breakfast can be very rushed, staff seem very keen on taking order even before you have sat down. More
