We stayed 2 nights at the Edgewater and during that time it became one of our favourite places to stay in northern Tasmania. Our room was on the Waterfront and one of the unique experiences we had was watching the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry cruising past our window in the early evening at very, very close quarters. It's huge and... More

I needed a clean, comfortable room near to the Spirit of Tasmania & I don't think I could have chosen better. Clean renovated room, delicious meal. River traffic a little noisy but local to The Spirit perfect. The only thing that could have improved my experience would be free WiFi. More

There is nothing fancy about this motel. If you are looking for a basic room for an overnight stay, then this would do. I've stayed in "courtyard" rooms a couple of times - glad I didn't book a "waterfront" room as the noise of the Spirit docking at dawn was loud enough to wake me anyway. When I headed up... More

We had a single night stay prior to getting on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry. We weren't expecting much based on the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet, and we had a good night's sleep. We also didn't expect... More

Stayed overnight in a "waterfront double" at the Edgewater - only chose it as it was very close to the ferry terminal for the Spirit of Tasmania. The standard of the room was very basic and the fixtures/fittings were also at the lower end of the scale. The room was clean, however, and the staff at reception were friendly and... More

If you need a short stay in Devonport, this is the place. Have stayed numerous times - room is fairly basic but everything always spotlessly clean and everything one needs. Love it. Waterfront room is great, love watching the Spirit of Tasmania leaving and arriving (though fairly early). Very convenient having nice restaurant on site - food is always good.... More

I'm not too fussy when I travel, but this is really bad. I stayed in one of the 'courtyard' rooms - half the lights didn't work and the tiles were peeling off the shower recess. I bought internet, but their wireless was too weak to pick up and I was not offered any recompense. I ate dinner in their restaurant... More

I was wary when I pulled up outside what looked like a rambling pub on the wrong side of the river in Devonport. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that (a) the pub closes early so is no impediment to sleep; (b) the rooms are very recently refreshed and most comfortable - I stayed in 112, a terrace room;... Friendly staff in Hotel and Restaurant. King size bed and large room right on the River for $110 per night. The only disappointment was the charge for internet access $16.50 which we thought was pretty steep. We have stayed at many places who provide it free or a minimal charge of around $5. Three movie channels and the sports channel... More

Nearest motel/bistro to the Spirit of Tasmania. Arrive there straight of the boat expecting to get a meal in the Bistro, hours on the door said it was open for meals but bistro closed. Website makes it look more luxuriose than is, more a budget motel, better option caravan parks East Devonport or drive over the bridge to main part... More
