We enjoyed our stay at st Helen's, it was very quiet, the service was excellent, we loved the view and our room. We ate in the restaurant, very friendly service and good food. I would stay here again. Thankyou

St Helens is a wonderful beautiful place; it is a pity that the location is served by this hotel. The atmosphere was like a retirement home, strange smell, quirky layout, underwhelming decor, substantial amounts of wasted space etc. The main corridor creaks - loudly. Reception could not find our reservation and then placed us, initially, in a lower class of... More

We spent two nights during a bicycle trip. Enjoyed our stay very much. The room was good size with comfortable beds. We had breakfast and one dinner in the restaurant which was quite adequate. Enjoyed visiting the town.

Large hotel close to the Bay of Fires. Large comfortable room with two queen size beds. The bathroom old and primitive and should be renovated in due course. Big restaurant but, as only 5 tables were occupied, we felt rather lost in the large room. Food and service OK. Breakfast was disappointing, but perhaps due to the small number of... More

Room was comfortable but noisey, near reception, dining and bar area. Thinking of taking a swim pool area was unloved. Gardens around complex needed some loving. We had breakfast on both mornings and was disappointed with the communication we received from the staff and on the second morning was only able to have the bufett breakfast which would have been ok... It looked great in the brochure. On booking we were advised there was an extra cost for a water view, well our room was ground floor and our "water view" was a stagnant area of water with overgrown grass and weeds all over the place totally ripped off. The floor boards are very noisy, you can hear every foostep in... More

I think most people stay here as there is not much of an alternative and so this is reflected in the price. It's well situated and our room (on the second level) had a great outlook. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable buts that's about it. The pillows were well past their use by date. The... More

We were quite nervous about staying here with all the negative reviews so more than pleasantly surprised by our experience. Stayed with our son and daughter in law for two nights over Easter and had a terrific time. Yes they are short staffed and yes don't expect there to be first class service however on the up-side the staff were... More

A group of us stayed there .The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable ( king size) . We had a set price for the weekend per person, and I feel that it was very overpriced. A few of us went down to the bar for a coffee and a drink. The service was terrible. They knew there... More

We stayed for 2 nights last weekend, the room was clean and quite large as was the bathroom, but had the smallest shower I've ever seen, tiny little corner unit. I doubt there is any insulation between the rooms or the floors, as you can hear everyone walk up and down the corridor plus talking in the rooms beside and... More
