My wife and I recently spent one night in the Waterfront Suite at the Stanley Village. Set right down on the waterfront, this very well run hotel is centrally located to all of Stanley's attractions and its major feature, the Nut. Clean and well appointed accommodation and friendly service reflected the pride the owners take. The adjacent restaurant was almost... More

We were unsure of the town layout and were very happy to not only find we had such great waterfront views but could easily walk into town for dinner and shopping. We had a twin room being Mother and son and it was amply spacious. I loved that it was spotlessly clean. We woke early to the sounds of penguins... More

We stayed in the older house which is part of the village called The Anchorage. A beautiful old 3 bedroom house allowed us to spread out and enjoy the space. Kitchen is modern with access to the back deck and views of the water directly in front of you. Bathroom was large with washing machine and dryer and clothes line... More

Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean room and great views from outside our window, lovely decor. Everything was perfect, informative on anything we asked of them from tourist stuff to best roads to take to our next destination. Would highly recommend.

Everything about Stanley Village was prefect. We received a warm welcome from the owners who were informative and helpful at all times. The room had a stunning location with views of "The Nut" from the rear, from the front sitting in the bay window was like being out on the bay. Such a relaxing location it was quiet and peaceful.... It doesn't get closer to the water than this. We stayed here for one night at the end of a week long trip and the accommodation didn't disappoint for the entire tour of Tasmania. This motel was great, spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds, a great view over the water and close to the village. We highly recommend the restaurant... More

The accommodation was fabulous, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, great view over the water, close to the village. The restuarant attached to the accommodation supplied a very good menu, the food was as good as any top restuarant and reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend to anyone. Congratulations Tasmania

A rather quirky little motel, wonderfully situated on the coast with sea views from each unit. Parking space is tight, as this isn't a large site. The rooms are small, but well fitted with all the usual motel room facilities. Happily the owners have seen fit not to install those hard, uncomfortable mattress so prevalent in motels - combined with... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
When it comes to staying in Stanley, the only place to stay is on the waterfront at Stanley Village. Stanley Village is a boutique waterfront hotel and restaurant rising from the ashes of abandoned colonial buildings. These buildings, which are nestled under the famous "Nut", have been tastefully restored and remain the hub of activity they once were, albeit in a very different use. With a genuine waterfront location all suites have absolute water views and is within walking distance of activities in the township. Our restaurant 'Stanley's on the Bay' is located in the historic Bond Store, built as a Customs Bond Store in 1835 with ships ballast. Our fully licensed a-la-carte restaurant serves the finest in locally grown produce specialising in superb steak and succulent seafood. The fully restored 'Wiltshire Railway Station' complete with railway memorabilia has been relocated and transformed in to our 'Whistle Stop Cafe' housing our breakfast bar and reception. Spend the day exploring the region, dine at ‘Stanley’s on the Bay’ or simply order in and watch the sunset over Sawyer Bay from the comfort of your suite. Although once the sun goes down you will be asked to share the view with the local penguin population who happily wonder through the property and entertain!A stay at Stanley Village will see you experience a fascinating window into Australia's colonial heritage. Our friendly team aim to provide you with a memorable stay and are here to cater to your every need. ... more   less
