Our stay at Motel Strahan was nice. The room made good use of the space: The long cabinet held the TV and mini bar on top with the fridge, kettle, toaster, and dishes and cups underneath in drawers. Our room had a little lanai section to enjoy the weather. Behind the office is a room with a microwave that guests can use. A washer and dryer is also in this room for guests to use for a fee. There is a back door to this room so you don't have to go thru the office area. It’s a 20-30 min walk along the waterfront where restaurants are located. The manager was so sweet to turn on the heater in the room as we arrived late in the night and it was cold due to the autumn season.

It was quiet despite the fact it was on the road into Strahan. Maybe that’s because the traffic is almost non-existent at a night as tourists would need to be off the highway well before dark. It wasn’t a modern motel, but it was clean, tidy, comfy, and the bed was good, Plenty of hot water, a nice stroll along the waterfront to the main area. There is a pizza place 100m away as well as a bottle shop. Can’t go wrong for the price.

We recently had a 2 night stay at this motel while on holidays in Tasmania. It definitely needs some attention. It certainly was not a "4 Star Luxury" as stated on the motel website. The shower leaks water all over the floor which could pose as a slip hazard. The outdoor courtyard area from the back door of our room couldn't be left opened, the weeds were so overgrown that they came inside. The tracks onto the back sliding door were also filthy. The whole place is in need of a good clean!!! The blind was obviously broken at some stage so was just replaced with a random blind, different length and colour. There was also an empty beer bottle left outside with cigarette butts inside. I'm certain that for the price we paid we could have gotten something better mote central to town. I wouldn't recommend staying here, perhaps look at alternate accommodation.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but this little motel is quite the surprise package. Big room, comfy beds, big bathroom and a nice little garden area out the back. Very clean, helpful and friendly staff and well priced, would definitely stay again if ever back in Strahan.

This is a 70's style motel and the rooms are showing their age. Our room was clean, but overdue for an update. There were no cooking facilities, other than an electric kettle. There was tea & coffee supplied. The local IGA was well stocked with cold meats, salads and so on, so we were able to " self cater ' to some extent. The bathroom was interesting, with the shower over the bath and a tiny shower screen The floor got wet no matter how careful we were. It made getting in and out a bit difficult for us of more mature years. One major downside is that there are no dishwashing facilities in the kitchen area. All plates, cutlery, coffee mugs etc need to be washed in the bathroom hand basin. Not ideal for hygiene reasons, if nothing else. The staff were friendly, as was their big dog which helped dad doing the cleaning. The location is very close to the centre of town, about a 2 minute drive away. There is an on-site laundry. A reasonable budget motel needing an update.

We stayed here for two nights during a holiday in Tasmania. The motel itself is nothing fancy from the outside, but the rooms are comfortably furnished in modern decor, with a few small touches like a coffee pod machine, ground coffee and real milk in the fridge. The bathroom worked, but need d a bit of attention to fix a few bits and pieces - loose toilet roll holder, shower head not properly fixed and an inadequate shower screen. In the room, the vertical drapes over the door to a small outdoor sitting area were inadequate. When you lay in bed, there was a 5cm gap on the side, through which a street light cast light on the pillows. The room was very bright and I had t wear an eye mask to sleep. Apart from these small niggles, it would be disingenuous to be too critical. It’s just a nice, small motel in a remote country community that’s about right for the price point. It’s a short drive to the town centre, or about a 10 minute walk along a very good and picturesque pathway. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
