First of all this property is no longer a B&B; you must book it directly through the realtor; search for "stay on kelley's island" and you will find it. When you rent it, you rent the full house which is 6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths. The good parts: - We had a group of 10; 5 adults and 5 kids. The bedrooms are large and very accommodating for a group that size. Each bedroom except one has its own en suite bathroom. - The kitchen and living area accommodated our group very well. The kitchen was well equipped and everything functioned well - there are 2 dishwashers which was great for large meals and frequent cooking which we did. - The decor is modern and it is well decorated. - The view of Lake Erie is beautiful and you have views from 4 of the 6 bedrooms - The "man cave" large bedroom with no lake view on the 2nd floor is great for teenagers as it has its own living area, TV and small kitchen - There is a full laundry room with full size washer and dryer which worked out well. - - There is a grill outside - we did not use it. - The dock off of the backyard was fun to fish from and we caught a variety of fish there in the mornings and evenings. Sculpin population is growing exponentially so you will catch a lot of those which can get frustrating until you get a fun bass or drum. - The location is very private and quiet and we did not have any problem finding it. We brought vehicles on the Ferry and drove from the Ferry dock to the house - 5 min drive. The bad parts: - This property is expensive - we paid $1200/night; ok, thats fine - we had a large group and wanted a place where we could all stay together; but, no lines or towels are provided with that rate. It was an EXTRA $450 to have linens and towels provided. If you figure 6 beds and towels - to do the laundry for that, maybe 6 hours of works - that's paying $75/hour just for linens. And while things are washing, other cleaning can be done. Its really an outrageous amount to charge for linens and we almost didn't stay here due to that. In the end, we did and paid for it because we didn't want to bring all that stuff with us. The linens and towels were good quality but we were all disappointed with the cost. - The wifi is spotty at best; you really only get a decent connection in the family room; bedroom connections are poor; they need to install wifi booster points in a couple of areas in the house - The master bedroom downstairs with a large en suite bathroom has no door to the bathroom - everything including the toilet is completely open to the bedroom - a very strange setup - The lighting at night in the family room and kitchen is very very very (did I say VERY) dim. To the point, it is hard to see to walk across the room. We had a repair person come out and replace some burned out bulbs but that made no difference. More lighting needs to be installed in those rooms. - There are tons of seagulls which hang out on the dock when people aren's there - that's fine - except for the mess they leave behind; it would have been great to have a hose on the dock (looks like its plumbed but no connection or doesn't function) to clean off the mess - The sinks in each of the en suite bathrooms have very little counter space - again strange for such a large house and there is plenty of room in the bathrooms to have larger counters - The pans in the kitchen need to be replaced; many of them are scorched on the bottom and are a mess to clean Overall we had a fun time, enjoyed the house and Kelley's Island but there are areas for improvement that would make this a 5 star property.

My husband and I stayed at this B&B in July and enjoyed our stay. The property is right on the lake (dock, no beach), and most of the rooms have an awesome view, and a balcony from which to enjoy it. I loved the large jacuzzi-style tub in our room (there are two rooms like this). A/C worked great, bed comfortable, large TV in room. Rooms are small but plenty of space for a few day stay. There are also a lot of places to sit outside for breakfast or to sun yourself later in the day. We used the lounge chairs and we saw one couple fishing off of the private dock. The manager is very laid-back, and was happy to provide whatever we needed. Be aware that the breakfast during the week is continental and not a hot breakfast; we got plenty to eat, however.

A fantastic quiet getaway! Located right on the eastern shore with fantastic views, pier, dock, patio, and relaxing sounds of the lake from the room. Stacy the hostess is very friendly and informative. The rooms are spotless with HUGE in room jacuzzis and very nice. We couldn't have asked for a better anniversary weekend getaway! We will come back!

Second time back at Sun and Surf....this time we stayed in room 3...such a beautiful room with a large balcony overlooking the lake. There's no such thing as a bad room at this place. Each room is beautiful with their own unique style and accommodations. Very clean, beautifully decorated, and honestly the most spectacular views of the lake. Stacey is another reason why I wanted to go back to Sun and Surf...she is such a sweet person,, she tries her best to make everyone happy, yet gives them their privacy and freedom of the place....my only regret is not staying longer....two nights is not long enough for this big beautiful place.

Stacey was so nice, and the breakfasts were great. The grounds were just beautiful. We had the apartment and there was so much room to stretch out in. This was a ladies get away and we had so much fun.

We stayed in room # 2 over the Labor Day weekend. We loved everything about this place! The room was big, clean & comfortable. The small private balcony offers beautiful views of the sun rising over the lake. The jacuzzi tub in front of a window overlooking the lake was a nice extra, but I wish the jets were a little more powerful. The home is very modern & nicely decorated. The living room has a two-story wall of windows over-looking the lake. The backyard is beautifully landscaped with plenty of seating areas, including a covered gazebo. The innkeeper, Stacy. was as nice as could be AND she is an excellent cook! Do not miss breakfast or you will regret it. Breakfast was served at 9am, but when a few guests came down at 9:45, Stacy still offered to make them fresh blueberry pancakes (the pancakes were to die for, by the way). Her quiches are delicious too, as was everything she made. Stacy will be happy to recommend things to see & do and places to eat. If we ever go back to Kelleys Island, we will definitely stay here again. I've already recommended this place to my friends & family.

This is a super place. Modern, homey, and wonderfully decorated. Stacy was our hostess and did everything to make us welcome & comfortable. Enjoyed talking with other guests during a delightful breakfast every moring. Quiet, very relaxing adult only B&B. Not handicaped friendly.because of all the stairs. Will go again. Recommend for anybody looking for a premium place to stay. No pets allowed.

I can't believe I waited this long to talk about how wonderful this getaway was. My boyfriend and I went the beginning of June. To look at the pictures doesn't even capture the real beauty in person....this place is unbelievable. Our room overlooked the lake, and the downstairs of the living room is amazing beautiful architecture, with gorgeous colors, cool contemporary art and view of the lake up close. You can relax and enjoy the beautiful backyard and ocean on a lounge chair, or even check out the view from the dock....and Stacey the housekeeper was amazing...she's always there when you need her, yet she gives you your space when you're there, and makes you feel very welcome...oh, and her little dog Fafi, is the most precious beautiful little dog I've ever seen !!! I had a hard time leaving, I just can't wait to go back. Sherry & Lance
