When you get down to it, it's the little amenities that often distinguish the good hotel from the exceptional. Such is the case with The Heathman, an historic property in downtown Portland. Don't be fooled by the rather simple lobby. Go around the corner to see the clubby lounge, where afternoon tea and evening cocktails are served in an atmosphere... More

Great location, excellent front desk/concierge and valet service - and wonderful rooms with fabulous linens. If you eat in the Heathman Restaurant dining room as my group of four women "of a certain age" did, ask to sit at one of Norman's tables. In addition to first class service, he was delightful. The food was. of course, delicious. We couldn't... More

I stayed at The Heathman Hotel, while in Portland for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon, and I loved every minute of it! The hotel is conveniently located, just a couple of blocks from Trimet light rail stops (the Pioneer Courthouse Sq stops seem to be the closest), and also the pod of food carts at SW 9th and Alder... We just checked in to a "Renaissance King" for $325 a night and the room is a joke. They sell you on the fact that it is a "corner room," but there are NO windows anywhere near the corner of the room! It is a dark room with small windows that offer little to no view. I mentioned this to... More

We were upgraded by the lovely staff so we stayed in a suite which was a bonus. The room was nicely furnished and the bed comfortable but the toilet/shower was cramped together to a point where you could barely turn around and my husband is a stocky man so he noticed it the most! Used the fitness room almost daily... More

The Heathman was wonderful! The beds were fabulous and the service was outstanding. The employees were so helpful from giving us directions to making sure we were enjoying our stay. Valet was wonderful and recommended. The resturant food was great for breakfast and the coffee was amazing. The location was great and in walking distance to many resturants and shops.... More

Lovely hotel in up-scale downtown neighbourhood. Great location. Wonderful service, good housekeeping service, all around nice place. Very clean. But the room was SO SMALL! As was the bathroom. That was disappointing. We would have stayed elsewhere if we'd known beforehand. More

I booked through hotwire so i got a pretty good deal. The staff there is really wonderful and helpful. They are the nicest hotel staff that I have encountered in a long time. The room is somewhat renovated, but still keeping the style that it tries to achieve. Everything did feel somewhat cramped, but the fact that the staff is... More

I stayed at The Heathman with my wife this past weekend and felt compelled to write a balanced review of this hotel. While the staff and service was excellent from the doorman to the maids, the rooms left something to be desired. We booked this hotel through Priceline at a rate of $130 for the night (normal rate $250/night) I... More

We took a weekend trip to Portland with friends for no particular reason, and they suggested the historic Heathman. When I made our reservations, I thought it was a little pricey, but it wasn't for the level of enjoyment we got. This would be a great place to stay to enjoy Portland's cultural offerings or for business. The staff was... More
