On when you go and why. No children, no pets. OK. Best for couples. It is a nice old house, and the Innkeeper, Maria I believe, is very nice and cordial. We had the largest room, but it isn't all that large. Had great TV reception and the wireless was good, too, IF you have to get online. I did,... More

The room was a tiny bit small, but had everything we needed. The bathtub was wonderful, the location was awesome and the fresh-baked cookies were a nice touch. The b&b owner was very sweet, and we loved the historic background & tour of the house.

Our first day of 80 on the road ended in this wonderful old house, well cared for with big room and lovely appointments. We enjoyed reading in the main room, and particularly enjoyed the Our only disappointment was finding that they no longer serve breakfast! Fortunately, they are located very near restaurants.

The Gilbert Inn is a wonderful change to new hotels. Maria was very helpful with reservations. We sayed 2 nights, mid week off season. Ask on specials & check the web site. She said was ok to check in early if we wanted. Our room was ready & very clean with private bath. The outside doors are locked & you... More

The Gilbert Inn is a house, built in the late 1800's that has been renovated into an "inn". We were very pleased with what we found on our three night stay, and must say that all of the favorable reviews on Trip Advisior were pretty much right on the money. We stayed in the "Addie" room, and found it be... More

If you enjoy that "old-time feelin'", this is the place for you! Surrounded by tall concrete tower-hotels, and just a short block from the beach, the Gilbert Inn is an island of sanity midst the towers of modernity. Beautiful house, beautiful main level public rooms and modern historic guest rooms mark this one of the finest B&B style hotels on... More

We spent two nights at the Gilbert Inn, selecting Addie's Room because of it's upstairs quiet location, king bed and wonderful shower. We could see the beach and the prom from our window. After a warm and friendly welcome from Jeannie, the owner, we stowed our stuff in our room and headed out to explore the promenade and the town,... More

What a charming old house with lots of character! You are greeted with warmth and friendliness from Maria, the Innkeeper, as she gives a brief tour of the house before showing you to your room. (She really makes you feel welcome) As with most other reviews here, be aware that this is an old house that has lots of noises... More

My husband and I spent four nights at The Gilbert Inn in the top floor of the main house. This cozy room felt a bit like its own apartment--it has its own staircase, it has plenty of room, a beautiful windowed sitting area and it's very private. When we arrived, Maria gave us a warmhearted welcome and urged us to... More

The Gilbert Inn is a nicely maintained and restored Victorian close to the beach, good restaurants, etc. It provides a quiet, comfortable retreat from the hustle and kitsch of Seaside. The original Douglas Fir paneling is beautiful, the added downstairs sun room is pleasant and airy, the fireplace in the sitting room is welcome in coastal Oregon's weather. The rooms... More
