When I was planning my vacation, I was looking for something different, close to the beach, not in crawly setup and somehow close to nature, a quiet place but at the same time offering the opportunity of doing many activities if we wished so, this is what I found at Casa Maderas Ecolodge. I must admit though, the first time... More

we had a lovely stay at casa maderas. the walk to the beach takes about 5-10minutes, over a super steep hill or there is a shuttle that runs infrequently and at odd times. the staff are lovely and friendly. the food, while somewhat more expensive, is tasty. the rooms were clean and comfortable. nice pool with a bunch of hammocks... First of all, I just want to say that this place has the same owners as Casa Oro for those of you, who like me, who have had a bad experience there. The hostel itself was not bad, but the owners were really rude, I think her name was Lilly? It seems like she doesn't have the time of day... More

I loved this place. I stayed in one of the cabin dorms and was very happy. It was large a cabin with 6 beds, a private bathroom and a little balcony outside faing the pool area. The free breakfast was excellent. I had french toast one day and pancakes the next. The pool was very nice and the perfect temperature.... More

I stayed here with a friend for one night and we received a discount since we stayed in their sister hostel, Casa del Oro in San Juan del Sur the night before. We also got another discount for checking- in at a certain time. I was pleased and I hadn't even left the check-in counter.Casa Maderas offers private cabins or... More

I read so many positive reviews of this place that I thought it was a no-brainer to stay at Casa Maderas ecolodge. Boy was I wrong. It is associated with Casa Oro (a party hostal in San Juan del Sur) and the night after we checked in a large group of rabblerousers checked in and turned the place into a... More

Firstly I would like to apologise that your stay with us at Casa Maderas was not everything you had hoped it would be, we try our best to keep the atmosphere as tranquil as possible but I guess we all have to accept that people are on holiday, certainly in December when we are at full capacity, fun and enjoyment... We chose this place mainly because we were travelling with kids and it had a pool. It was half the price of some other nearby places while offering many of the same amenities, and we found it to be quite comfortable. We had no issues (as other reviewers below seemed to) about the quality of the sheets, beds, or mosquito... More

We had a private room. Comfortable and clean BUT when I opened the windows there were mouse droppings on the sill. Yuck. They should check that spot before people check in. They want to charge you extra for everything! I also believe they are using the word ECO in the name of the hotel to attract people who care about... More
