I liked the fruit-themed rooms. Mine was The Gooseberry, with green walls. Big room with enormous, comfortable double bed, generous bath with strong power shower and the usual hot drink-making facilities. Good hanging space for clothes and luggage storage. The hotel is close walking distance to the Wyre Forest Park Run which is why I booked to stay there with friends. We had a good dinner, there happened to be live music (Friday eve) and a wood burner to create a cosy atmosphere on a cold winter's night. The staff were very accommodating throughout especially because we were quite a large group for dinner then breakfast.

Very average evening meal. Needs improvement from the chef overcooked pork and fish and very soggy cabbage. My meal came with boring boiled new potatoes when it should’ve been sauté. The waitress( who was doing her best to be fair) took them back - the same potatoes were returned to me just chopped up - it actually made us laugh. There was no bacon on the bacon burger. The bread and butter pudding was just made of ……..well, bread! No fruit - not even pear as advertised. And we were overcharged for it - £8. Honestly we gave up complaining. Paid a fairly large bill and left

I want to recommend this Inn. The owners and staff are very helpful and friendly. We only stayed one night but I would love to go back again. One of my daughters and I don't sleep well, but the beds were so comfortable, we both slept like logs. The rooms are very modern and have a shower over a bath. Luxury! The food was good and at a reasonable price. They have a lot of regulars, and I'm not surprised. It's only 10 minutes drive from West Midlands Safari Park and various other sight seeing locations, including a local forest. A lovely place to spend a break.

This review is based off Tipically Inspired Bonfire held and Far Forest Showground, keeping in mind that I know a lot of staff also work with Tipically Inspired. Last year we attended Himley Bonfire which compared to Tipically Inspireds event was terrible! The food selection was amazing, there was just enough stalls and rides so you didnt get overwhelmed, it was busy but not so packed you couldnt move, and there was a great view of fireworks which lasted so long I actually wondered if they were going to stop! Thanks to Mark and the crew (Mark also bought gluten free buns for my partner who is celiac) who made rhe night great. Bar staff just kept going and were brilliant. The band were a great end and the whole event was something we’ll definitely be going back to. I know that there was another event at Hopton Court which didnt go to plan but this is not a reflection on Tipically Inspired as I said the event on Friday was great. Lots of choice for gluten free on the food stalls and there were normal toilets as well as portaloos which was a plus. Well done to everyone, see you next year!

Nice size rooms, but they need some updating. My room had a number of issues. The shower came on at 2.30am, much to my surprise. It would seem that although it turned off after I had showered earlier, it was not fully turned off and came back on. The tap handle came off in my hand each time i used it, etc. little things that just need attention. Also the only air was from the velux window right above the bed, so opening just a crack meant the noise from the A456 all night was too much. This is a major trunk road for trucks.

We had booked a room here just this morning on line. We rang the hotel to confirm all was ok as we were having to drive three hours to get here. My husbands mother had passed away yesterday evening. So all a bit rushed. On arriving at the Inn the chap behind the bar said there was no booking for us. We even showed him the confirmation on our card. Nope no one to help with this situation. They were fully booked and could not explain the conversation we had had that morning confirming our booking was confirmed. Really not good enough and more stress added to an already emotionally charged day.

The bar staff was excellent. Mark was totally rude and no fecks given. This used to be my favourite place to say not any more. After my wife told Mark about a noisy dog in the room next to us his response was you can't mark us down for some one else. He even turned up late for work and walked in like he owned the place. I have a dog I don't leave it alone in a room for hours. I have been here over four times . Not anymore. I save up to enjoy my anniversary. Never again!!! I will spend my money somewhere else!!!

And when complabted was told u can't mark us down due to someone else ! Really , !! We are now back in are room after dinner and the dog is back in room still barking, so disappointed, thanks Chloe she was lovely , but for mark u really need to do some customer service training , if you want a relaxing stay not the place any more because dogs barking is fine !!

We visited here 10 years ago and it was a quaint Country-abode feel place. 10 years later and it still is but looking very tired and in need of upgrading now. Faded linens with old washed stains, repairs to plastered walls, damaged furniture that has seen better days. Clean enough and the pool and darts were fun. Don’t recommend the dinner if you’re vegetarian; the veg pie looked like dog food inside and the overwhelming flavour was garlic/onion. Accompanying veg was Al denté or should I say too hard to eat. Hubby had chicken and mushroom pie which was much better. Walked up to the next pub along the road later as there was music. Unless there’s a refurbishment we will choose somewhere else next time we stay in the area.
