We recently spent a night at the Royal Oak after being directed there by an adjoining establishment. The pub is just off the main road behind another pub and you would probably miss it if you were not specifically looking for it. The room that we stayed in was warm and comfortable with a large older style bathroom. The evening... More

This was my pub of choice during a recent stay in the area. I was attracted by the free wi-fi but stayed because of the pleasant atmosphere. It's only a small pub area, but they have a big beer garden and a large lounge / restaurant. I went along to the unbelievably cheap and very tasty mid-week carvery where the... More

The Royal Oak is a nice old building which feels warm and cosy when you enter. The selection of ales at the bar is very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were moderately sized, not large but were nice and clean with comfy beds. The rooms at the front of the hotel on the first... More

Stayed one night. Had a drink in the bar before dinner and had to get a jumper to put on as it was very draughty - door kept being left open. Food was ok in restaurant but then went straight to bed as I could not get warm! The room was pretty small and the bed too short for my... More

We had lunch at the Royal Oak after wandering through Lostwithiel, shopping and "just looking" in all the fab antiques stores and other shops. The staff was friendly and efficient, the food was yummy and reasonably priced, and the lager on draught was slurpilicious. (Sorry but I can't remember what it was!)

There were problems with the reservation but the personnel solved them immediately. They were really nice. The room is big enough compared to other inns. It's not a luxury lodge but for a couple of nights it's very good

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend. Room was clean and nicely decorated, but a little small. Perfectly good enough for our needs. Breakfast was somewhat chaotic. Despite filling a form the night before the lady serving did not have it. Told us we should have filled one in even though we had. Besides this the breakfast was well... More

Haven't stayed here but tried the food for the first time a last weekend. One of the best carvery meals we've ever had. Like the atmospheric interior of the place and the service was excellent, too. Top value & highly recommended for a Sunday lunch!

Ate here on a Saturday night with party of four, largely based on Trip Advisor reviews. They were quite busy, and warned us that there would be roughly 30 minutes wait for the food, although in reality it was a little longer than this. The food was fairly standard pub grub, which was a bit pricey for what you got.... More

A wonderful little spot this pretty pub was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were ready early and what a treat they were. Our room was superb value at £50 for the two of us with breakfast and although it was compact it was most charming and well designed. Our fellow guests had bigger rooms at a slightly increased price and... More
