My wife and I were walking the Coast Path for a week and stayed here for two nights at each end of the week, leaving our car at the hotel during the week while we were off walking. The two rooms we stayed in were both very pleasant, and although the en suites were on the small side, this is... More

What a super place to stay, relaxing, full of character and very comfortable. Due to a hold up on the motorway we were quite a bit later than we had anticipated, but this wasn't a problem and we had a lovely friendly welcome, including from Molly the collie. My partner didn't like the room that I'd booked (four poster room,... More

I must say what an utterly charming place. Rooms large and comfy, Sue and Sharon very hospitable. Nice selection of local beers in the bar ('help yourself and we'll count the empties in the morning!'). Breakfast :- not sure how one previous reviewer could dislike this... Home made bread, super local sausage , proper bacon. Couple that with nice selection... More

A fantastic place to stay and a great base for exploring the area. Sue and Sharon are fantastic hosts, providing everything from a wonderful, friendly welcome to superb food and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. A beautiful "Home from Home", great for couples, families and extended families! A great selection of rooms, depending on whether you want a superking bed, a... More

Everything about this place is first rate - the service, the food, the rooms, the atmosphere. I'm not going to bore you with the minutiae of our stay but, put simply, this place is wonderful. Sue and Sharon are the perfect hosts - charming, welcoming and yet unobtrusive. We will be returning before Christmas, and have already booked our room... More

Stayed 3 nights - wished we could have stayed longer. Having visited many first class city hotels we wanted a quiet, homely break in a picturesque setting. We found exactly that in St Georges - a warm relaxed atmosphere, beautifully cooked meals sourced locally, mixing + chatting with other guests at the bar or by the piano - it was... More

Bed and Breakfast for me means “a home away from home.” I think it should feel as though you are staying with long time friends. As a business owner myself, I expect a certain level of customer service which includes being treated kindly, with respect and most certainly feel welcomed. When choosing a B&B, I often choose 4* plus because... More

Thank you for your review. I feel sure that, should any potential guest take the trouble to read your lengthy take on your weekend stay with us, they can only be relieved that we do not fulfil your expectations of what a “home from home” should be. If we did, we would certainly no longer be in business. Throughout your... More

I am just back from 3 nights at this lovely welcoming hotel. My room and the public rooms were excellent. I had dinner on 2 of the 3 nights, some of the best hotel food I have had in a long while. Just annoyed that I have forgotten thje ingredients Sharon uses in her homemade bread! Sue and Sharon are... More

My boyfriend and I came for the weekend and stayed for the week. We both live and work in London and spend a good deal of time staying in hotels on business and leisure. This is, without a doubt, our favourite escape and we are delighted to have discovered it. The hotel is beautifully decorated and perfectly appointed. Our room... More

The room had a very odd smell of soapy damp washing. Breakfast was average. Didn't feel particularly welcome and didn't think the en-suite was overly clean either. Check around on different sites to try and get a cheaper room rate if you do stay here, more than £50 would be too much! You can't walk into town to get any... More

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay with usand that you found us unwelcoming. Our reputation, founded on the experience of many, is that nothing is too much trouble for us. We cook for our guests every evening and, despite your rather late check-in, you were also invited to dine with us. Our food is highly recommended... More
