I booked three nights so we could go bushwalking around the area. The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfy especially after all that walking, and we had a great view of the mountains. The atmosphere of the place was great, it's like being in a European alpine lodge. There was a mix up at the begining... More

Thank you Andrew and Allison for my recent wonderful stay at the Candlelight Lodge in Thredbo, Australia. The property had a nostalgic, Alpine atmosphere that created a warm first impression on arrival. My room was spacious and well appointed , comfy and warm, and I had a door onto a balcony with a sweeping view of the mountains and chairlifts.... More

We had a family room for a couple with a child during the ski season last year. The room was clean and had openable windows, which was great to get the crisp winter air in in the morning. Our room also had a wonderful view of the slopes - just magic. The beds were OK, we were pretty exhausted after... More

We had a family trip via Candlelight Lodge at Thredbo over Easter. All up, a very pleasant experience, enhanced by our most helpful hosts Andrew and Allison. They were very welcoming, couldnt help enough and seemed really suited to running a warm inn to stay. Breakfast was cereal, toast and fruit - basic but plentiful, the rooms had enough space... More

This is a great location with wonderful view. I am sure it would be just fine for skiers in winter. However at summer time is not up to scratch and definitely not worth $150 night. The outside of the place needs a good clean or paint lob and definitely some flyscreens ( because there is no air cond). Also, the... More

With exception of the fact that the hotel is located in an area for skiers, there is nothing else interesting in this hotel. The lady working there was very kind but obviously overwhelmed with the tasks she had to accomplish. One employee for all guests, worse breakfast ever and a coffee you do not risk to taste! Room facilities were... More

This is a basic hotel. However, the room was clean; the bed very large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean (but the shower curtain needed replaced as it had a really bad odour!). The continental breakfast was just cereal and toast but sitting in the breakfast room with a great view of the mountains really made up for the lack... More

The room was clean and spacious, with a deck, and lovely views across the valley, and a nice comfy bed, but both nights we were kept awake by people talking on the outside area underneath our deck, (even though our windows and doors were closed). The lodge is multi-levelled, and we were also disturbed by people walking up and down... More

Thanks for the honest review and we welcome all perspectives. For the record yes there was a band playing in the village square during your stay being New Years Eve, a raucous night no matter where you are and the village was full with big groups partying. Being a ski town and a full house does make parking a challenge... More

this forest feeling lodge would be the pleasant place to experience. I was on the choice between a modern apartment with cooking facility and this lodge for Christmas holiday. As we were only two of us and it was not a long term, I decided to have a holiday mood leaving the everyday thing at home: cooking in a modern... More
