This property was once a large and beautiful estate. Now, it is a run-down, crumbling ghost of delusions. We'd made a reservation at a different property. The morning we were embarking, that innkeeper called and asked if we'd consider staying at du Village, due to a mix-up. Sure, why not? Well, I'll tell you why not: Peeling paint (not the... More

Don't bother!!! We had a room (#7) with an overflowing toilet. The plumbing was so backed up that when the guests upstairs started to shower the tub started to fill and as the toilet overflowed we didn't know which way to run! The water from the toilet overflowed all the way to the tub- and this was WHEN WE ARRIVED.... More

Last month we were fortunate to make a few visits to the New Hope, Pennsylvania area. On eash occasion we chose to stay at the Hotel du Village. If you feel the need to stay connected to the world, i.e. TV, ESPN and news updates, then this B&B may not be for you. However, if you are looking for a... More

My parents have been coming here for long weekends at least once a year for over 2 decades. My husband & I spent a few weekends here before we bought our house (and financial responsibility settled in). Just recently we returned, with my parents AND our 4 year old and 4 month old baby. I was nervous, this is not... More

We've been coming here for a while now and every time we get here we remember the reason why we picked it to begin with: we were looking for a French-style restaurant in the area and this came up on the screen. Good choice! Their cuisine, while on the rustic side, is cooked just the right way and the rabbit... More

Spent a Saturday night here recently. The property is lovely, the hostess / owner is very gracious and the setting is restful - lots of little places to sit and read, sip, relax. It is a short distance out of the tourist bustle of downtown, probably a 3 minute drive, but not walking distance for most, especially after dinner out.... More

I would not recommend or re-visit this place EVER again. The place was "cute". Kind of like a french botique, if thats your sort of thing??? You could say it had "old world" charm. The place had old carpets, drapes, furniture, windows, fixtures...everything was old and smelled musty. The building was not air-conditioned, and the rooms had very old dusty wall... More

Sorry for your problems with your stay. It was an extremely hot weekend, and I agree the a.c. should have been turned on before you arrived - it usually cools a room within minutes, but your weekend was the hottest on record for July. The pool issue was complicated by neighbors calling the police about the noise from your group.... More

Please read the "children of the corn" review. They hit the nail on the head, the only difference is that we did not have dinner at the restaurant. If you like "charming" and "charming" is code for old, musty, smelly, and dirty then by all means go and enjoy!

We did not stay at the Hotel, only ate dinner there one night. The food is very good, the atmosphere is quaint & rustic. My date had the Steak Au Poivre, and I had the Veal Marsala, both excellent. The best part? The Strawberry Shortcake, it was out of this world! The innkeeper and the waitstaff were very friendly and... More

Cute and charming. Not for everyone, no phone, no tv. Shabby Chic. Restaurant is top rate.
