We just returned from our first trip to Block Island...Our stay at the Blue Dory Inn was a perfect choice...it is centrally located among the shops and restaurants. Everything was within walking distance including the bicycle and moped rental which we highly recommend. We were able to see the entire island on a beautiful Saturday...and the rental of the moped... My partner, our dog, and I all spent a splendid weekend on Block Island before the season started: not too crowded, but the weather was perfect. We stayed at the Blue Dory Inn, one of several pet-friendly accommodations on the island, and will return again in the fall. It's right by the beach and only a short walk from the... More

We had a great time there over the weekend. Our room was good, we had our own private patio, a airtub in our room and a wonderful view of the ocean. The snacks were great and the service was very friendly. Being right on the beach was great too, could hear the waves rolling in and made for relaxing sleeping.... More

we stayed at the Avonlea May 8-11. of 2012. The Emerald room was just perfect. Great view of the water on the second floor. Comfortable bed and you hear the ocean waves. I was 3 minutes late for breakfast and missed out. Happy hour was not my favorite. tostidos, dip, cookies, and wine. Not a great combination, but a good... More

We love this place for its off-season rates, dog-friendly rooms, and perfectly located wraparound porch overlooking Crescent beach which hosts tasty breakfasts and wine and cheese happy hours. We stayed at the Tea House. Our jacuzzi tub did not work and the room badly needed simple renovations (e.g. a paint job). But it's comfy and you can hear the ocean... More

We stayed at the Avonlea on 6/29 & 6/30. We had an incredible experience. Breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean from our room. Delicious breakfast each morning and a delightful staff! We love BI off season and this was wonderful experience! More

We stayed at Avonlea the first weekend of May. We were greeted by Michelle, who is a very accommodating inn keeper. She showed us around and was very gracious. We stayed in the Garnet room, which was perfect for the three of us. Our room was spacious and clean (although a tile did fall out of the shower during our... More

Stayed at the second inn, Avonlea, Jewel of the Sea (same owner as Blue Dory Inn), in the Emerald Room. Location is fabulous---lay in bed and watch the tides change; on a nice quiet side stree t right on the beach, but an easy walk to town. Room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable and clean. Breakfast included and excellent.... More

Just got back from a girls getaway... we totally enjoyed our stay! We were made to feel so welcome and at home at the Avonlea. Breakfast on the porch overlooking the ocean, wine and appetizers later in the day, just doesn't get any better than that. Looking forward to going back again next year! More

We were greeted by Michelle as soon as we arrived. She is a very sweet, accommodating Inn keeper. The rooms were lovely and you felt like you had someone taking care of you but not in an annoying way. Can't wait to go back next year! More
