We had never been to Block Island and had a hard time picking a place from the many scattered reviews about the places we were considering. My wife and I were there for a few days on business. We expected basic rooms, old structures and limited amenities. We found a friendly inn keeper helping us chose the better room for... More

This place is a cute little spot to rest your head. No its not a luxury hotel, but I found it to be just about what I was expecting and the location is UNBELIEVABLE. No AC, no tv, no phone. But, I did not want those things. Thats what we were getting away from. The staff was friendly and accommodating.... More

Between the filthy rugs, closet-sized rooms, peeling old paint, and general decay/neglect, this place places at the top of my must-miss list. We stayed one night and promptly fled for far better (and less expensive!) accommodations. Not sure what the reviewers who have sighted improvements were seeing - could it possibly have been worse?

Yes, the other reviews are mostly accurate. The place is old and spartan and needs some updating. But understand that Block Island is not a luxury destination, despite the Nantucket sized high prices.

I booked this Inn on-line, asking if they had any rooms available. They said yes, however, they never told me that we would not be staying in the Inn, but in a house on the back of the property. The rooms were clean, but old, run-down, had a "funky" smell and very small quarters. Although it was not the fault... More

Anyone thinking about staying at the Narragansett Inn should know first off that this is not the fanciest place on Block Island. 100 years old this year, the decor is very simple, some rooms share a common bathroom, and there are no TV's, air conditioning, or phones in the rooms. However, if you just want to spend some time relaxing... More

The restaurant is a gem. Great food. The hotel section, however, needs some heavy renovation. Start with new beds. Old, old, old. Great location though. Helpful staff.

We made a mistake in our travel planning and had to stay here for one night until our long-term accommodations were ready. While the location is great and I've had plenty of fun having drinks at sunset on the porch of this hotel, this place is a real disappointment to stay at. It's like no one cares. The furnishings are... More

My husband and I ended up staying at the Narragansett for four nights due to our teeny apartment rental getting a bit overloaded by our teenager's friends and then by our son and friend! It turned out great. We have been renting houses on Block Island for 20 years and have never stayed several days at an inn there. The... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Narragansett Inn from July 17-19th, having searched for a place in a good location that could fit into our budget. The Narragansett is a very barebones establishment, so those looking for luxurious accommodations are coming to the wrong place. Having arrived via the Montauk ferry and landing in old harbor, we found the... More
