I've been staying with the Richards a few days each summer for the last few years and have had a wonderful time every time. The house is huge and well-designed as a guest house, with high ceilings, spacious suites and lots of air. There's a timeless feeling to the place that's very tranquil and calming. Yet they do have good... More

We stayed at The Richards for a friend's wedding in Late October 2011. The house was nice, furniture, bedding was ok. As another reviewer mentioned, there were no TV's, so if you're going for a getting away from it all vacation you're in luck. We knew everyone staying in the house the weekend we were there as it was all... More

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay for a week at the charming home of Nancy and Steven Richards in Narragansett near the shore. The house is located in a quiet, beautiful area, yet is conveniently close to many places of interest. We occupied the suite with two bedrooms, a sitting room and a private bathroom; all the rooms were clean,... More

Well, the many highly positive reviews here seem to cover the accommodations, breakfast, hosts, so I will only add a little more about what my wife and I especially enjoyed. The house is charming and grounds are beautiful, and we enjoyed talking about the house and grounds with the friendly owners. The home and area have an interesting history. Also,... More

We stayed at The Richards the later part of August 2011. I have to say my review may be skewed for two reasons. First, by our "over the top" experience at a B&B in Baltimore (Blue Door on Baltimore) which - as far as I'm concerned - sets the bar extremely high. Second, my husband and I were truly offended... My husband and I stayed at The Richards in October 2011 while in town for a friend's Newport wedding. All of the B&Bs in Newport were booked, so we decided on The Richards, much to our great fortune. We stay at B&Bs every time we travel, and never have we had such congenial, laid back hosts as Nancy and Steve.... More

My husband and I were attending our Godsons wedding on Saturday Sept 10th. We decided to make it a mini vacation and arrived at The Richards on Wednesday. We had a wonderful experience with them and staying at their beautiful home. The room was spacious and very clean, the king bed was extremely comfy, even with my bad back. The... More

This place was beautiful, both inside and out. And is a great value. Inside the rooms were clean, well done, and very comfy. The reading room and sitting room were beautiful and the bedrooms were quiet. We slept very well. The breakfast was great and plenty of it. Outside there was a short walk along a country road through beautiful... More

Excellent location close to the ocean and only about 20min drive to Newport. Beautiful gardens with a koi pond offer special attractions. Hosts Nancy and Steve are very friendly and make guests feel like family. This is a perfect place to have a relaxing weekend in RI. More

We stayed in a suite that allowed us and two teens to spread out and relax. We loved hanging out in the stunning gardens with hammock and koi pond, and visiting the many area attractions: gorgeous local beaches, Newport, Watch Hill, etc The innkeepers are friendly and full of good info, and their breakfasts are delicious. It felt like we... More
