This is an interesting choice. First of all, the location of the Lamboll House is excellent - located smack dab in the historic district of Charleston and two blocks to the beautiful riverwalk in the Battery. The home is beautifully appointed with antiques and very clean. Our room (there are only two rooms that they use for the B&B) was... More

This B&B is a lovely old home very close to the Battery. The room we had was on the 3rd floor and was very large with a balcony. It was nicely decorated and comfortable for sleeping but there weren't enough chairs for sitting and resting. The bathroom was clean and adequate but there were not enough towels and there was... Previous reviews were very harsh, considering this 275 year old home is one of the oldest in the south of Broad Street area, and is lived in by the family that runs this B&B. The owner can trace his family roots back to the original builder, although he acquired the home in 1965. It isn't a picture perfect, high-end, luxury... More

First of all, I was really nervous booking this B&B after the few reviews I read on here. My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary and wanted a special experience. I had always wanted to stay in an old historic home south of Broad St and had booked a B&B down the street from here, but 9 days... More

What an unfortunate experience. The property is very old. That was expected, although there is a difference between "historic" and "disrepair". Burned out light bulbs, rocky toilets, no water pressure. The house is dirty. The rooms are dirty and dusty. The kitchen smells like rotten fruit, the front porch smells of cat urine because the cat roams outdoors. Both cat and... More

We've stayed in many b&b's and this was one of the worst. The lady who ran it has either done this way too long, is sick of talking to guests or just isn't friendly. When we arrived, she just gave us the key, said when breakfast was and disappeared. She didn't ask us if we needed anything. We couldn't find... More

We stayed on a Saturday night arriving at 8 pm. Marie was there to greet us at the door. She was very nice welcoming us...gave us the keys to the front door and to our bedroom on the third floor and told us to read the rules that was in our bedroom. They mishandled our reservation terribly, having rented one of our reserved and confirmed rooms to someone else, forcing us to scramble to find a second room elsewhere in town, even though we arrived as agreed at 3:00 PM. There was no one there to discuss the situation, and we still haven't heard back from them with an apology or explanation.... More

Host not present upon scheduled arrival. No assistance with luggage to third floor. No afternoon libations at all and not even a bottle of water available in our room, let alone flowers or welcoming snack. Nothing special about the room. As we were leaving for dinner, hostess asked if we would prefer coffee or tea for breakfast in the morning.... More

Welcome to Charleston. Set your watch back 200 years. We came for the candleight home tour and found our B&B far more charming than anything on the tour. Slight problem checking in as owners were in Europe, Host was owner's son who was not on premises. House is lovely, and has not been modernized except for bathrooms which may be... More
