First class Inn with 11 rooms. Exquisite bathroom, 4 poster king bed, cozy chais and couches surround fireplace. Private Piazza with comfortable furniture and cool breezes is reached through sliding windows instead of door! Sherry, wine, desserts, and cheeses in the afternoon; breakfast is combination of savory and sweet. Very memorable stay. More

My wife and I just got back from a long weekend in Charleston and stayed at the Governor's House Inn. We stayed in the Rutland Suite and it was everything we could ask for in a historic B&B. Room was charming and the staff wonderful, warm and full of spot on information about the city and restaurants. We will be... More

Spent one Thursday night at the Governor's House Inn in Charleston. We were in town for a wedding in Folly beach for the weekend, but decided to spend an extra night staying in downtown Charleston so we could get the full southern experience and see the city a bit. The Inn met all our expectations. Perfect location in the city... More

We spent two nights at the Governor's House Inn at the end of March. It is a warm and Inviting Inn in a great central location. We were able to walk everywhere from the time we arrived until we left. The staff was friendly and help and the breakfast, and tea was just great. The veranda is a wonderful place... More

Great experience! The service was terrific as the staff was able to make our stay very enjoyable. We stayed in the Barbados room on the lower level of the main house. The large bathroom had a whirlpool tub and separate shower. It had its own sitting area and was quiet and roomy. Coffee maker and mini fridge in the room... More

Nice old house on Broad St.. Walkable to Market St and the Battery. Parking in the rear. Had a second floor room with access to a HUGE covered porch. There is no mini bar/small fridge in the room. Ice is brought to your ice bucket in a small plastic bag. The ice cubes are so small you can barely grasp... More

I am not sure how to say how stellar this experience was. The welcome was lovely--we were offered iced tea, water or coffee all served from silver--while we checked in. Then, Travis our host gave us a wonderful tour of the main areas and some history! The home is well done in terms of historical decoration and accessories--all very high... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Governor's House Inn and LOVED it! The location was ideal for everything, close to shopping, dining and attractions. You could not ask for a better staff there, they were all very friendly and professional. We were able to stay in two different rooms which was actually nice to get an idea of what the... More

Our recent visit to Charleston was significantly enhanced by spending 3 nights at this wonderful 1760 historic inn in the heart of the historic district. As a traveler with much experience staying at nice B&B Inns, the Governor's House rates with a few others at the very top of my list. There was absolutely nothing negative to be said about... More

My wife and I stayed her for her birthday and were impressed with the entire experience. We enjoyed the Middleton Suite with large veranda and marble bath. The bed was extremely comfortable and the location was perfect. We walked everywher for lunch and dinner. The staff were very accommodating and made several recommendations for local sights.
