My wife and I just spent a wonderful weekend at this hotel and it was absolutely perfect, especially for our first trip to Charleston. There are many reasons that we loved this hotel; very clean rooms, super friendly and courteous staff, proximity to historic downtown and Liberty Square (Fort Sumter departure), city market and the wonderful farmers market on Saturdays.... Dear AKnuckles, What a great review and we are thankful for your comments. I am beginning to wonder how Kevin is going to top himself, and then he continues to reproduce memorable experiences time and again. Your recommendation to start with Kevin is certainly the best way to begin your experience with us. What we are happiest about is how... More

Great place to stay and a good location. One of the highlights of our trip was the services of the concierge, Kevin. He took us on his nightime tour which was fantastic and very interesting with his insights of Charleston! Lots of fun! He recommended walking tours, the plantations and the best restaurants. One of our favorite restaurants was High... More

My husband and I just came back from a 4 night stay , and we most certainly want to go back. The hotel is in a perfect location , so you are able to walk to restaurants, The Old City Market, and other sites or you can take the free trolley that runs down King St and up Meeting St,... More

Dear RoGa, What a great visit! When you consider memorable experiences, you list almost more than can be imagined. As you mentioned, there is a magical charm to our city and it is great that you were able to get a sense of that. Kevin continues to amaze and he is always on his "A" game. We are really happy... Had no issues with the hotel which was clean and comfortable. The plus was the concierge service of Kevin. He successfully recommended places to see and tours for a group of four who really hadn't planned anything in advance. We were pleased with everything he recommended, including the restaurants. Looking back, not sure how he convinced us to meet him... More

Dear Stacey Z, It was good to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and had no issues, and that Kevin was able to provide a great itinerary on the spot. Of course it is easier for Kevin if he has some advance notice but I am always impressed with how he accommodates one and all. Thank you so much for... More

We enjoyed our stay here, and the location at the upper end of the King St shopping district is great. Lots of great restaurants nearby, especially in the newer hip area of King north, such as the Macintosh, one of the newest and best. But don't drive and park any car you care about. The hotel's back parking lot is... More

Dear YukonRoadKing, Thank you for staying with us and for giving us a review. Parking anywhere in downtown Charleston is always a challenge and we admit that we dont always have the easiest solution here. But, we are steadily working to improve the situation. Right now we have an upper and a lower lot on our grounds. The lower garage... More

Great location. Staff were very friendly and responsive. Nice property. Two negatives: the place was packed and the facility and systems (check in, bistro, elevators, parking) just couldn't handle it; parking is terrible, not enough and they charge $14. I'd still go back. More

Dear MikeBaer, Thank you for staying with us and it sounded like you picked a very busy time to be with us. We try hard to staff accordingly to handle the occupancy at the hotel but your assessment is reality. Sometimes it is very difficult to serve you as expected when we are maxed out in all facets. I am... More

Being the world travelers we are, I usually do my own personal research before arriving in a new destination. We love food, cultural insights and unique shopping, but unfortunately my schedule didn’t allow my usual planning before coming to Charleston for our first visit. Thankfully, the terrific concierge Kevin McQuade came to our rescue, and set us up with a... More

Dear JSS949, Wow, what a great weekend in Charleston! I am now very hungry after you just mentioned some of the finest restaurants that Charleston has to offer...those are some great ones. Your experience is really what we would want for every guest and it is always just a true delight to hear when it all comes together so nicely.... More

First trip to Charleston as a birthday getaway with my wife. Called in advance and talked to Candice who was kind enough to upgrade us to a balcony room. Was even further surprised and impressed when she delivered a bottle of wine as a birthday celebration! Like other reviewers have mentioned, concierge Kevin McQuade absolutely nailed it with things to... More

My husband and I had just one full day in Charleston while we stopped into town to visit our niece who just graduated from College of Charleston. We were booked in one of the fanciest hotels in the city until I read the trip advisor reviews about this hotel's concierge, Kevin McQuade. I decided to change our reservations based on... More

We stumbled upon the Courtyard by Marriott and selected it primarily due to the Tripadvisor reviews, good price, excellent location, knowing Marriotts are always consistent, and then there was this interesting set of reviews that raved about the concierge Kevin McQuade...intriguing. The stay at this newly renovated modern hotel in the heart of Charleston did not disappoint! We had a... More
