We loved the location of this inn. It definitely had some charming aspects - historical features and decor. We also liked the wine and cheese hour. From a logistics standpoint it was a disappointment. Our room (#6) was right next to the clerk at the front desk, we could hear everything going on in the front hallway and felt that... More

Stayed here two nights, Saturday and Sunday. Sunday rate was decent, Saturday rate was completely out of line. Room was musty and smelled horrible. Very noisy. Service was very poor but worse was their attitude which was - "I don't care". Great location but that's about all this place has going for it. More

This was our first visit to Charleston. We booked the Anchorage based on other TripAdvisor reviews, and it's central location, since we did not want to rent a car. It sounds like the rooms vary a lot; from size, view, lighting, etc. Based on this, we decided to pay a few more $ per night and book the Palmetto Suite.... More

I spoke directly with the Anchorage Inn before I booked a room. Nay was extremely helpful on helping me pick the perfect room. A lot of the reviews complained about no windows, but it was a non issue for us. We had room # 5 which was quite large with a very comfortable king bed. It was quiet and was... More

Before I booked my room, I researched this hotel, read the reviews which sounded good. But, when I got to the hotel, was I disappointed. I had to drag my suitcase up the front steps ( no ramp). The receptionist was not helpful or friendly. Got to my room which was dirty, dark, & no windows. The free breakfasts were... More

Very disapaponted. No windows , terrible service, I have bigger closets that that room. No coffee or tea service and no battle water. TV options were meager and paltry. More

The woman at the S.C.Tourist Information Office near Myrtle Beach told us about this hotel and gave us a discount coupon. It was worth having a look, but we were not expecting to be bowled over. Instead we were delighted when we arrived right down in the French Quarter, where we could walk to everywhere and leave our car in... More

After a bit of a rocky start with the parking garage, Nay and all of the staff were wonderfully accommodating. From offering an early check in ...to making our dinner reservations...to giving us a bag of ice for our cooler, everyone showed the southern charm and hospitality Charleston is known for. The room was clean and comfortable. Free wine and... More

A small group of us old college friends decided to take a vacation together. Our stay here at the Anchorage Inn was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were excellent, the service could not have been friendlier or more accomodating. The breakfasts, wine and cheese , and Sherry were a wonderful addition to everything else they offered. It has been a while... More

We had a college reunion in Charleston this past weekend (April 20-22nd, 2012). We stayed at the Anchorage Inn which was recommended by a friend, and it made our weekend. It is a wonderful location, close to the Waterfront Park and a free trolley stop. The staff is incredibly nice and graciously accommodates every request. We talked with Nay (not... More
