My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely B and B in room 4. We were initially assigned a front room on the first floor that was too noisy for us and we immediately switched to room four upstairs. This is a very large room with a king bed and another twin bed that could easily accommodate three people.... More

Horrenously Bad food and service. Decor was AWFUL. Decorator should be hung. This place is equivalent to a Motel 8. Bike rental policy is unexpectedly childish. More

The guest who posted this review had an axe to grind as he requested to keep our bicycles out past our return time policy and called me at home. I explained to him that the bicycles did not have lights on them and for reasons of safety and to have a consistent return policy they needed to be returned by... More

Three friends traveling together - we stayed in Room 4 which had a king bed and a twin, and opened onto a second floor porch. Very large room with a fireplace, small refrigerator, tv, and a sink outside the bathroom. Perfect for the three of us! Nicely decorated. Delicious breakfast, and chocolate fudge in the afternoon! The drawbacks were the... More

My wife and I have enjoyed visiting Charleston and Cannonboro Inn two consecutive years in a row. The city is amazing and the people there make you feel accepted. The Cannonboro Inn is a great place to stay with nice rooms, great staff, and an owner who will pretty much fill you in on all of the history of Charleston,... More

Avoid room 7 at all cost. At the top of 3 flights of stairs there is only room for 1 person and 1 suitcase at a time. This room should only be rented to singles. We were 2, and the only way my husband could get out of bed was to scrunch off the end and shuffle sideways. This was... More

This was my husbands first experience with a B&B. The room we had (#7) was exactly as was discribed. We we not in the room much except to sleep anyway so it fit the need. Berry the owner and Marie the hostess we both such big assistance when we had questions, provided with information and history. Generally both would speak... More

The house itself is quite beautiful; however, it sits DIRECTLY across Ashley Avenue from MUSC, so traffic is busy pretty much all the time. The houses of that period weren't constructed with soundproofing, so even if your room isn't directly over the street, you'll hear the road noise. If you're looking to spend a lot of time downtown (King/Meeting Street... More

Other visitors obviously had a better experience than us. It's not that there's much wrong it just wasn't the warm and friendly place that we've found at so many US b&b's. Breakfast was a specific plate of something each day - and that was it. No toast, no extra fruit available, no extra anythings really. We're small eaters but even... More

My wife and stayed in an upstairs room that was out of novel. The people are very friendly, clean and the breakfast was top notch. The owner is as friendly as they come. WE enjoyed ourselves immensely. Phil Patterson More

We spent our 50th anniversay in Charleston and stayed at the Cannonboro for several nights. We found the Innkeeper Marie very helpful whenever we had a question or needed a suggestion. The night before our anniversary, at tea time, she surprised us with a bottle of very good champagne along with nuts, crackers and spread, and fudge. Breakfasts were elaborate... More
