I'm sure reviews vary depening on location and expectations.
May not be for everyone but my family loves this place and we think its worth a trip if you are considering places in this area.
We stayed in a nice 2 bedroom house after visiting for the first time last year.
Thought I'd list a few pros/cons- so you can...

Our family has been coming to Fripp for years. My breathing slows and I feel my entire body relax as we enter the South Carolina lowcountry....there is no place more beautiful. Fripp is literally "the end of the road". It is at the end of a string of sea islands off the Carolina coast. The pace of life is much...

On a last minute trip my wife and I decided to go to Fripp for New Years eve. I cant say enough good things about how wonderful this resort is.
It is both a mixture of Resort type condos to residential homes and vacation rentals. You can stay in an oceanfront home or or the resort condos all the way...

I loved the resort/island but will rent through private means like vrbo.com and not through fripp resort. Oh and we both got sinus infections from the gross window a/c unit that blew...

When our plans changed for the Memorial Day weekend - we had the chance to take off from Atlanta for a few days. After calling and calling down around 30A in the Gulf - there was NOTHING. We decided to go to East coast instead. Having been to Hilton Head 100x we very much wanted to try "something else." We...

We stayed in one of the Sun Suite efficiencies that face the beach and had an amazing time! We were there 3 nights in mid September and the place was practically deserted. The island is immaculate: completely private, full of deer walking around, gorgeous houses, everyone drives golf carts or bikes. Do NOT come here if you're looking to party....

So, I read all the reviews and ended up renting a Villa ( from a private owner) right on the beach ( Captain John Fripp Villas) next to the Beach Club. The island is lovely, with lots of areas for privacy ( even on the week including the 4th of July). We cooked all our meals in the villa and...
