We came in from Cody Wy and was very tired. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. I was able to use the wi-fi easily. The coffee is on 24/7 and very good flavor. The toast and juice was of high quality. Good job!

We aren't able to stay in Deadwood, but this was a good alternative. Less than 5 minutes from Deadwood, so it was easy to drive in (or take a cab...$17 for six of us, not bad!) The "breakfast" they offer is just bread, PB/jelly/butter and a toaster, so you might want something more substantial. They do offer juice and coffee... More

We appreciate you taking the time to comment on your recent stay at the Mineral Palace and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, Taxi Cab service for Deadwood/Lead is fairly priced for the short ride. Thank you for mentioning the cleanliness of our rooms and our Express Breakfast. Really the most inexpensive place to go on a week-end around Deadwood. Not easy to make a direct online reservation with them. Best to just call or do it on booking.com. Outside looks a little stark, but inside is better. Rooms are just fine. Best comparison is an upscaled Motel 6. But good coffee and juice all nite in the... More

Thank you for your honest review, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us and the restaurants located throughout the area. Our breakfast is smaller with toast and condiments. We look forward to having you return on your next visit to the Black Hills! More

We stayed in the Palace Express for two nights. The room was huge and included two reclining chairs and an end table in front of the TV. With all that room it would have been nice to have a MW and compact fridge in the room but we used the MW in the breakfast area and lots of ice instead.... More

Our room was cheap, but sufficient. It was a bit noisy, as it was right next to the road, but when all you need is a hot shower and soft bed after driving through the Black Hills all day, then it was fine. I had also reserved the "jacuzzi suite" for our return trip (we drove from Minneapolis to the... More

Couldn't believe there was such a thing as a hotel room for thirty-five dollars!!! I thought there had to be a catch somewhere. Nope! Very friendly from the front desk to the housekeeper. Yep, they have a toast bar for breakfast. Never heard of it, but that's what it was. Toast, peanut butter, jam, honey, juice and coffee. But then,... More

Wasn't sure what to expect for the price. What a bargain. NO bugs! Helpful staff. Good water pressure. Private bathrooms in all rooms. (some web sights made it sound as though bathrooms were shared). Would stay there again without hesitation.

10th consecutive stay for Kool Deadwood Nights event. Over the years there have been a few minor glitches, but all were addressed promptly & cheerfully. Stayed in all types of rooms (basic - street side/hill side, garden tub room, executive suite): All very clean, very adequate. Realistic pricing when compared to rates at Deadwood (5 minutes away). Coffee/juice 24 hours.... More

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights this past week. The hotel is clean and the staff is nice. The rates are very reasonable but that's mainly because it is an older hotel. They do not have a pool but there is a hot tub. They have wifi and a very basic breakfast (not enough for my kids... More
