Stayed 3 nights (Sept 9-12). Jim & Marla were very flexible with our travel plans. They made sure to ask our kids names and showed them where to find kid-friendly stuff. At the nightly campfire, they would not only ask us about our day, but would talk to the kids (ages 5 & 7) about the things they liked about... More

We camped and Whispering Winds has the best accommodations I have ever had while camping, nice shower/bathroom, free firewood, coffee in the morning, group fires every night... Jim and his wife are super friendly and willing to help you make the most of your trip. Definitely going back to stay in a cottage next time! Thanks!! More

Enjoyed our stay, Marla and Jim were very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and clean. A great place to stay if you have children, plenty of room to run, a swing set, toys and games for kids of all ages. Highly recommended. More

Found Whispering Winds on the Internet. Very nice and friendly. Clean and much better atmosphere than a chain hotel. Marla and Jim did everything they could to make our vist great. Really liked the fire every nite. Convenient location between Hill City and Keystone. Central to all the attractions in the Black Hills. Would stay here again in a heart... More

Marla and Jim are the perfect hosts and went to great lengths to make our stay comfortable yet they were also unobstrusive. They are a wealth of information about local amenities and are happy to share the knowledge they have. The rooms are immaculate and Marla or Jim would magically appear when we needed something. And although the cottages don't... More

Spent 3 nights in the Western Cottage, it was decorated nicely, clean, quiet, with a perfect location for sight seeing. Jim and Marla went out of their way to be helpful and answer any questons or provide anything that was needed. Thier location is perfect, right in the middle of Keystone and Hill City, just minutes from Rushmore, and Custer... More

We really enjoy visiting here. Jim and Marla do a great job and the kids love this place, as do we. It is a family place with lots of room to spread out and enjoy the SD weather and sights. It is close to all the main attractions and Jim is always up on what is going on around the... More

JIm and Marla were great hosts! While we were there we actually witnessed them helping one of their tenants get to an auto parts store to get the part to fix their vehicle. The campfire every night made for a warm and friendly atmosphere. It allowed all guests to come sit around the fire and find out where we were... More

Warm, inviting, comfortable place to call home for a few days, while checking out the Black Hills. Hosts (Jim and Marla) are fantastic, and have thought of so many little details to make the stay more comfortable. Excellent hangout for families, or anyone who enjoys making friends around the campfire. More

We traveled to the 2010 Sturgis Biker Rally and Whispering Winds was a great place to stay. The cabin and accommodations were clean, there is a covered area to park the bikes and a spot to drop your trailer. I was a little concerned at first that is 50 miles to Sturgis, but the ride is wonderful, and we always... More
